Chapter 16

Looking into the ocean brought him a sense of freedom and adventure. He felt like he was part of the sea as he breathed the salty air and filled his lungs with the well-known smells.

Being a pirate and living at sea was sure a wonderful thing, there was excitement and adventure always ahead. Going anywhere he wanted and watching the sun go up and down every day was something he enjoyed. The wind was the one that send him to where he wanted to go and many times his guide. The smell of salt and water and the wind in his face was something he loved and cherished over anything.

Jacob had his own crew, many had experience and many just were there for the experience but overall they all had a great time. He was hardly on land and when he was he missed being in it.

Jacob turned to look at his crew and saw his best mate and most trusted friend giving orders to one of the crew members. He could see his friend towering over the man in front of him, the man had to tilt his head to a far angle to look up to Sebastian.

Jacob couldn’t hear what Sebastian was saying as they were far from where he was but he could see the other man’s concentration and respect getting every word that Sebastian spoke. Soon they were done and the man left to do whatever it was that Sebastian had ordered him.

Sebastian must have felt someone watching for he looked up and looked directly at Jacob. He waved and started moving towards him.

Sebastian had been his friend since he arrived at the Caribbean broke and lost. The again Sebastian hadn’t been in much of a better situation.  Sebastian was a little under a year younger the Jacob. When they had met, Sebastian had just turned sixteen and Jacob was getting closer to eighteen. They had nowhere to go and they actually caused some trouble.
