Chapter 2.4

A few days have passed and it's time for my family reunion. After Craig, or should I say Chase, did that to me, I stopped talking to him for a while. But apparently Carlos didn't like me avoiding Craig so I was forced to talk to him.

I finally got Craig to agree to come to my family reunion today. I just hope that he behaves well.

"Okay listen, just stay calm and stay cool. " I told Craig. "If you feel like you're about to change then just leave."

"Just leave?" Craig inquired.

"Yes. Just go. "

"You're embarrassed of me aren't you?" Craig asked sadly. Truth is, I am, I didn't want to hurt his feelings.

"No Craig. I just don't want anyone getting hurt. " I told him. It was the truth, I didn't want anyone greeting hurt.

But if he acted out like he does at home, what would my family think of him?

"Alright. You ready?"

"Lets go"

We drove about 45 minutes out of the city to the reunion. We pulled up to the area secluded just for my family. There were people and food everywhere. We parked and got out the car and I instantly spotted my mom.

"Mommy!" I squealed as I ran up to her and gave her a hug as she hugged me back.

"Tia! Glad you could make it." She cheered.

"Mom, this is my boyfriend Craig. " I said as I pulled Craig into view.

"Awh, the boys that's been taking all of my daughters company to the point where she can't call her own mother. " My mom joked. Craig laughed and gave her a hug.

"Nice to meet you miss."

"Pleasures all mine. "

So far, so good. For now...







Everything with Craig was going smoothly and pretty peacefully. Everyone was enjoying his company. I could tell that they approved of him. That's until....

"Hey Craig! Wanna play some basketball with us bro?" My cousin BJ asked.

"Nah man. I'm good. " Craig answered.

"Ahh, come on! Oh I see what this is. " BJ said. "You scared you gone get that ass whooped. "

"Don't be so sure. " Craig laughed.

"Well then prove it. Me, Joshua, and Trishton against you, Michael, and Victor. " BJ said pointing out all the other family members playing.

"Alright, lets go. "

They all got on their teams and began a "friendly" game of basketball. That's until, 20 minutes into the game, Victor threw Craig the ball and he didn't catch it. Instead, the ball hit Craig right in the nose causing it to bleed.

It was a instinct to jump up instantly and run to his aid.

"Yo bro, I'm sorry man." Victor apologized.

"Hey, Craig? You straight?" BJ asked as Craig held his hands over his rapidly bleeding nose. At this point, I new he would burst out in tears at any minute.

I was wrong.

I slowly moved his bloody hands from his face as my worried eyes met his raging ones.

He looked like he was ready to attack.

"YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Craig, no Carlos, shouted as he pointed to Victor furiously.

"Hey man, I said I was sorry. " Victor pleaded. "Calm down. "

"I HATE SORRY NIGGAS!" Craig yelled even louder that he caught the attention of all of my other family members.

This wasn't the attention I wanted him to have though.
