I made it to my next class, which is Biology, the same class with Jacob. I sat at my desk as the teacher took attendance. I looked back and forth from the door to my bell work paper. Jacob hasn't come in the classroom yet.

Probably still in the locker.

I knew I should've helped him. I just knew it! Now I feel bad.

"Jacob Perez?" The teacher called him in attendance, but he wasn't here. "Absent. " She marked.

Maybe I should've told her he was in his locker. How would that sound though?

The whole class period went by and still no sign of Jacob. The bell for the first lunch period rung, it's time for me to go. Maybe I should stop by Jacob's locker to see of he's still in there.

I gathered my things and left the room. Walking down the hall, I heard faint bashing noises. Nobody else paid any attention to it, so maybe I'm just imagining things. Atleast, that's what I thought until I came face to face with Jacob's locker.

"Help! I'm trapped! Somebody help me out of here!" He yelled although his voice was muffled.

I lifted the latch on the locker and opened it, causing Jacob to fall out into the floor.

"Oops! I'm so sorry. " I apologized.

"It's okay. " He laughed. I grabbed a hold of his hand and pulled him up. "Thanks. "

"You're welcome. " I said. I turned around to walk away until he grabbed my arm and stopped me. My cheeks instantly turned red from the sudden touch.

"Hey, what's your name?" He asked, smiling at me.

I was at a lost for words. His smile was breathtaking and that was an understatement.

"N-Nina. " I stuttered.

"I'm-"

"Jacob. " I said cutting him off. "I know. "

"Cool. " He said scratching the back of his neck. We stood there, awkwardly, for a while until the tardy bell rung.

Saved by the bell.

"Well, I have to go to lunch. " Jacob said.

"Really? I do too!" I said a little too excited. I smiled in embarrassment as he giggled.

"Wanna sit together? I don't really have anyone to sit with. " Jacob asked me. I just looked at him. I never thought in a million years that he would ask me to sit with him at lunch.

To everyone else, he was a weird, dorky kid. To me, he was like a superstar every girl wanted to get their hands on.

"Oh, I see. It's okay. You can go sit with your friends if you want." He said putting on a faint smile.

"Oh no! No! No!" I said. "I don't have any friends either. " I lied. I don't want him to feel bad.

"Oh, okay. So, you want to sit together or?"

"YES!" I shouted in a rush. "I mean, yes. "

We walked together in the lunchroom and sat at an empty table closest to the door. I hope he doesn't think I'm boring.
