This Is Forever

Chapter 12

Chris went to a meeting about three hours ago and now he's at the studio and I'm very bored. Like... Extremely bored.

"Rocky!" I call and she slides through the house.

"Let's go for a walk!"

I grab her leash and clip it to her, grab my phone, and walk out of the house.

I walk Rocky almost all the way back home when my phone rings.

"Hey boo," I answer and laugh.

"Stop calling me that!"

I laugh again, "What's up?"

"Me and a couple friends are gonna go play laser tag and I know Chris is at the studio, wanna come?"

"Yeah! Let me get ready."

"Alright, see you there."

I hang up and quickly go back home to get ready. I call Chris to let him know.

"Hey babe," he answers.

"Hey! I'm going to laser tag with Crawford, so if I'm not home when you get home, I'm probably there."

"Seriously?"

"What?"

"You're going without me?"

I smile, "Well," I drag out the 'L' sound, "You can come home."

"I wish, I gotta work though.. Have fun Princess."

"Alright, I love you."

"I love you too."

I hang up and grab my car keys.

I walk into the building and see Crawford, so I run up behind him and jump on his back.

"Nikki!"

I laugh, "I love how you automatically know it's me."

"Because you're the only person that would jump on my back like that."

I jump off of him and he hugs me.

Andrew is here and Kirsten.... And... Kenny..

"Oh! Ness, I don't think I introduced you to Kenny... Nikki, this is Kenny Holland, Kenny, this is Nikki, my brother's wife."

Kenny shakes my hand and I immediately want to let go of his hand. He's attractive, but there's something dark about him that makes me nervous...

"Hey.." Kenny smiles and puts his in his pockets.

I nod and quickly walk to Kirsten.

"Kenny creeps me out.."

"What? He's so nice!"

I shake my head, "I don't know..."

"Alright, let's go!" Crawford yells and we all follow him in the room.

I totally won.

Crawford sighs, "You suck."

"Obviously not, I beat you," I stick my tongue out and he laughs.

"Alright, see you later," he hugs me and I relax all my muscles so that he's holding me up.

He laughs and I stand up, "Alright, bye boo."

"Stop calling me that!"

I laugh and leave.

I hear footsteps behind me while walking to my car and turn around to see Kenny. My stomach drops and I stop.
