"Where are we going?" I ask Chris for the 17,000th time.
"You'll see." He responds again. He's so patient with me, I can't think of anyone that would put up with me like he does.
He pulls in to a parking spot and I look up out of the windshield.
"Chris!" I yell.
"C'mon, it'll be fun!"
Ice skating. Of course, Chris knows how to ice skate because him and Crawford played hockey when they were little, I always just went to the games because I didn't know how to skate.
"Chris I can't skate."
He smiles, "I'll teach you."
We go inside and pay for our skates and, of course, I have no idea how to put them on because the most I've done is roller skate and skateboard.
Chris helps me put my skates on and helps me up, but I stumble a bit and fall on to him.
"You're like a baby deer," He laughs. I roll my eyes and prop myself up. He talks my hand and slowly walks me to the rink.
"Ready? Glide on."
"Chris no, I'm scared."
He takes both my hands in his, so he's skating backwards, "I won't let you fall, I promise."
He gently pulls me out on to the ice and I freeze. I don't move anything because I'm afraid that if I do I'll fall.
"Babe, you know how to roller skate, right?" He asks. I nod my head. "Baby steps, glide your foot."
"Chris, I'm going to fall."
"No you won't, I'm right here."
I glide my foot a bit and the other just follows like it's a habit. Chris lets go of one of my hands but still skates backwards with one hand in mine.
I gain my balance a bit and it's easier than I thought! Chris slowly skates with my hand in his. I stumble a bit and lose my balance, but Chris rushes to catch me.
"I still get butterflies when I look at you," he smiles and stands me back up.
He still makes my heart race...
We stayed and skates for about three hours before getting hot chocolate and sitting in a little coffee shop by a fire place.
"Feel better?" Chris asks as he rubs my shoulder.
I nod and sip my hot chocolate. "Good," he says and kisses the side of my head.
"Have I told you I love you today?" He asks.
"Probably," I smile.
"Well, I love you."
"I love you more though." I say and sip my hot chocolate again.
"That's impossible."
I put my hand on the side of his face and gently pull his to mine and kiss him.
Could my life be any more perfect?
We go home and Chris sits downstairs on his laptop for a bit and I change into sweats and a tank top. I decide I want to do a face mask, so I put one on and then run downstairs to grab a water bottle.
Chris double takes from his laptop and I stop.
"What's on your face?" He asks, obviously extremely confused.
"A face mask?"
"What is it for?"
"To make my skin better," I say while continuing what I was doing.
"You're already perfect."
I roll my eyes and make my way back upstairs. I hear Chris close his laptop and follow me upstairs, "Damn, that's all mine," He says and backhands my behind.
I gasp like I always do because I still don't expect it. I hurry up the stairs and he follows. I sit on the bed and he changed in to basically the same thing I have on. I crawl in bed and he crawls in next to me. I sit up and lay on his chest. He brushes his fingers through my hair and plays with it because he knows it makes me tired. I doze off to him quietly humming something, I'm not sure, I fell asleep.
