Chapter 38: Xfinity at 'Dega

Kennedy's POV

Earlier this week Chase and I went to Indy for him to test a little bit and then came down to Alabama. I love Alabama! I would love to live down here but I'd rather live in the great state of Georgia.

I'm so excited for this weekend because we are at my favorite track! Talledega! This is a fun but nerve-wrecking track.

I was currently on the balcony of Mine and Chase's hotel room, early in the morning, looking out at the small view I had of 'Dega.

I've missed this track. It's so much fun to watch!

I heard the balcony door slide open and I feel a strong arm wrap around my waist and the person stood by my side. It was Chase obviously.

"You okay?" He asks with a small smile.

"Yeah, just lookin' around" I smile back at him.

"It's a nice view isn't it?"

"It's beautiful"

"Just like you" he says. I look up at him and laugh.

"You're so cliché"

"I might be, but you love it" he winks.

"I do because it's cute" I say.

"Okay, so I have a question for you" I continue.

"Okay..."

"Do you still talk to her?" I ask. I am referring to his old girlfriend Kaylie.

"Every now and then, why?"

"I was just wondering"

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, I just don't like her and she doesn't like me"

"I know you don't" he chuckles kissing my head.

"Well we better get going, things are kinda early today" I say walking back into the room and getting dressed.

I changed into a navy blue, aqua blue, and neon orange zig zag tank top and white short shorts.

*qualifying*

Chase qualified 14th for today's Xfinty race which isn't too bad. I was sitting on pit wall watching qualifying. At the end of round 1, Chase was second fastest!

"This next round is gonna be the death of me" I tell Alan.

"Yeah, no kidding" he laughs.

Round 2 Chase went out and got 1st. I stood up on pit wall as Austin Dillon went out.

"Please, please, please" I say.

CHASE WINS THE POLE FOR TALLADEGA!

"OH MY GOSH! YES!" I say jumping off pit wall.

I high-five all of the crew and wait for Chase to come back. He gets back and gets out of his car. Alan hands him his hat and I hug him.

"Oh my gosh, I am so freaking proud of you!"

"Thank you!" He laughs kissing my cheek. I pull away a little and peck his lips.

After many interviews and media things, Chase had to start at the rear of the field because he missed driver intros which is freaking stupid!

*after the race*

Chase finsihed 10th which is good and Elliott won! After a few interviews and congratulating Elliott, we head back to the hotel and get ready for tomorrow's big race.
