Chapter 44: Sprint Showdown/ All Star Race at Charlotte

Kennedy's POV

We are at Charlotte Motor Speedway the next two weekends for the Sprint Showdown which is today, the All Star race tomorrow and the Coca-Cola 600 next weekend.

It has been raining all weekend here and it makes me sad because there hasn't been any activity. Practice and Qualifying for tonight was canceled due to rain which sucks. It's still raining.

I was just wearing a pair of jeans, a red v-neck, a black rain jacket, and my red and white Nikes. I had my hair in a ponytail and a little makeup on.

I was walking to the drivers meeting by myself because I was talking to my Mom on the phone. I was telling her about the house Chase and I looked at and that we put an offer in already.

Waiting for answer on this house has been one of the most stressful things in my entire life. Knowing that could be the house that Chase and I start a family in and live the rest of our lives in, just makes it even more stressful.

"Hey" Chase smiles, wrapping an arm around my waist as I catch up to him as he was also walking to the drivers meeting with Alan.

"Hey" I smile.

"So what'd she think?"

"She was really happy for us and she wants to pay closing costs for us if we get the house and I told her no but she's as stubborn as my Mamaw and is paying it no matter what we say. I tried telling her no"

"It's alright. We could pay it before she does" he chuckles.

"I'm glad that we found a house that we could live in together"

"Me too Darlin"

"Wait a second, where has Steph been?" I ask.

"Probably messing around with Blaney" he smirks.

"I'll ask him" I say as we walk into the room of chairs and drivers.

"Blaney!" I say walking over to him.

"Kahne!" He says hugging me from the side.

"Where's Steph?"

"Um, she should be here I think, I'm not sure. Why?"

"What's going on with you two?"

"We're both not sure yet. We're going on a 'date' tomorrow I guess"

"Okay well tell me how that goes" I smile.

"She'll probably beat me to it" he chuckles.

"Probably but that's okay" I giggle "See ya later and good luck Gorilla"

"Thank ya Monkey" he says and I give him a thumbs up as I walk back to where Chase and Alan were. I smiled as they left a seat for me in between them.

*after drivers meeting*

Well there will be no activity on the track today because it's been raining for hours and every time they try to dry the track it starts to rain again.

"What now?" I ask Chase as I was sitting on his lap in the motorhome with him, Stephanie, and Blaney.

"Well we could go out to dinner if y'all would like" Ryan says as Stephanie lays on his chest. They aren't together just yet because he hasn't officially asked her yet.

I look down at Chase and he shrugs.

"We can do that!
