Chapter 73: Thanksgiving with the Elliott's

Kennedy's POV

Chase and I decided that every other year, we would either go to my family's or his family's for Thanksgiving.

Last year we went to my family's so this year we are in good ole Dawsonville, Georgia.

I wake up to the sun shining through Chase's old bedroom curtains. I turn to cuddle into Chase but he wasn't there. I sit up and stretch. I stand up and slip on a t-shirt so I could go downstairs, (I just had sweatpants and a sports bra).

I start walking downstairs and I heard Chase talking to Bill and Cindy.

"How're you feeling about this pregnancy, Son?" Cindy asks.

"I'm really excited, Mom"

"That's good Hun. Any nerves?"

"A little, but just knowing I'm going to have a little child of my own makes the nerves all go away"

"That's how I felt when I found out I was pregnant with you. Now your Dad has went through it before so it was normal for him"

"Cindy..."

"I'm just saying Bill!"

"How has Kennedy been handling it?" Bill asks Chase? By this point, I have sat down on the steps.

"I swear, she acts like she's done this before, she amazes me"

"Well Hun, she has nieces and nephews. She knows how to handle it"

"She's going to be an amazing Mom, there's no doubt in my mind" Chase says.

"There's no doubt in my mind either"

"I have never loved someone so much in my whole entire life. When I look at her, she never fails to make me fall in love with her over and over and over again. Man, I get to marry her" he says and that makes me smile.

I walk downstairs and they all look at me.

"And I get to marry you" I smile, I walk over to him and place my hands on his face and press my lips to his. I feel him smile and I hear Cindy say "Awe".

"I love you, Kennedy"

"I love you too, Chase, more than you could ever know"

*a few hours later*

I was wearing a black long sleeved dress that stopped above my knees and it was form fitting which everything I wear anymore is form fitting so I can show off my bump.

I finish the mashed potatoes so I decide to head outside where Chase was grilling the turkey.

I wrap my arms around his waist from behind and rest my head on his back.

"Hello my lovely lady"

"Hello my handsome man" I giggle. He moves me around to where my arms were still wrapped around him and I was now by his side and one of his arms was around me.

"Dang my fiancé is a dime" Chase says looking down at me with a smile. I blush and bury my face into his chest.

"Kiss me"

"What do you say?" I smirk.

"Please?"

I smile and peck his lips. He puts the lid back down and wraps both arms around me and he kisses my head.

"You're being very romantic today...are you alright?" I laugh.

"Of course I am, I'm just showing how much I love you. Am I not aloud to do that?"

"You are, you definitely are" I smile and kiss him "you usually like to mess with me though"

"That's my job, loving you, protecting you, and also making fun of you" he smiles and I roll my eyes.

"You want to go to Kasey's tomorrow?" He asks.

"That would be great" I smile.

"Chase, Honey, Mama Joe is here. She would like to see your lovely fiancé" Cindy smiles as her head pokes outside.

"Okay, I'll be in, in a few" he smiles back. Chase lifts the lid back up and hands me his phone.

"This is going on Facebook" he chuckles and I shake my head with a smile as I take a picture of him.

I hand him back his phone and he pulls me to his side. He takes a selfie of us and it would probably have to be my favorite picture of us yet.

Our smiles were so big, you can tell we're happy to be together. I was cuddled into his side and I had a big smile. Chase had his arm around me and his eyes were glistening. I loved it.

He grabs the turkey and takes it inside and sets it down on the stove.

"Come on" he smiles grabbing onto my hand and leading me into the living room.

"Mama Joe?"

"William! Hello handsome! How are you?" She says getting all excited and he leans down and hugs her.

"I'm great, how're you doing Mama?"

"I'm hanging in there, where's that lovely lady of yours? I would love to see her!"

"She's right here" he says moving me in front of him.

"Oh my! You get prettier and prettier every time I see you!" She says holding onto my hands.

"So do you mama" I smile

"Oh be quiet!" She says and I giggle.

"Did you see her belly?" Chase asks and she looks at my bump.

"Oh my! Look at you!"

"Another great grandchild is in here!"

"Oh my goodness, you look amazing!" She says placing her cold hands on my belly.

"Thank you"

Oh my gosh, this family is awesome!
