Kennedy's POV

This week has kinda sucked.

On Monday, Chase's dog, Skamp passed away. I've known him since he was a puppy and I've loved that dog and he always loved me. He'd always get so excited when I would walk in with Chase. He was also a gorgeous dog, his color was beautiful.

I remember one day I came home with Chase from a race and I walked in the door. Skamp ran to the door and he ran past Bill, Cindy, and Chase and came to me. I hadn't been at their house in awhile.

He put his paws up onto my shoulders and he hugged me. As his "little nub" was wagging so fast.

"Hey Buddy!" I giggle and he barked as he had what looked like a smile.

"He's mine" I tell Chase and he raises an eyebrow at me.

"I don't think so" he says shaking his head.

"He loves me more than you"

"He might, but he's still my dog" he smirks.

"Whatever" I mumble playing with Skamp's pointy ears.

I miss that dog so much.

It was so hard to watch Chase deal with it. He cried as he laid with Skamp. It broke my heart into billions of pieces, I started crying. I tried to be strong for him but there was no way to.

Now later this week he's calmed down a little but still upset and thinks about him constantly.

He's tried to take his mind off of everything by talking to my belly. It calms him down, even thought baby can't say anything back.

He loves it. Which speaking of which, I'm 13 weeks today!

The TMNT 400 is today! So I just HAVE to wear a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt and a pair of white shorts with black sandals. I pulled half of my hair up and left the rest down.

Pre Race Ceremonies

"Good luck today Buddy! First day of the Chase, you can do it!" I say hugging him.

"Thanks Ken"

"I love you and be careful!"

"I love you too, and I will, I promise" he smiles and pecks my lips before climbing into his car.

Pre-race festivities are complete and we're ready to race!

"Alright bud, let's go," Alan tells Chase after his most-recent stop.

20 laps remain at Chicagoland. Chase is leading the field in his NAPA Racing Chevrolet SS.

5 to go! Still P1! Come on Chase you can do this!

Just as I say that, there was a caution. This is where it's all gonna go down hill.

We go into overtime and Chase pits along with a few other drivers. 4 drivers stay out including Kasey and Ryan. Chase was restarting 6th.

Chase didn't win, Martin Truex Jr. won, but Chase finished 3rd.

I hug Chase when he climbs out of his car.

"Remember what Alan said, Chin up! You did great today! Those cars that stayed out kinda ruined it for us so don't start blaming it on yourself because you did everything right" I tell him.

He sadly smiles at me and pecks my lips.

"You know, I feel like Martin is gonna be the next Kyle Busch, and we're all gonna hate him because he wins too much" I mumble to Chase and he starts laughing.

"I bet" he laughs as he wraps an arm around my shoulder and kisses my head.
