Starflight always loved Sunny since they were first born with all the others dragonets. He didn't mind that she didn't look like a normal Sandwing because she was perfect even with her deformities to him. Of course, now they know why she turned out that way. Her mother was a Sandwing and her father was a Nightwing. This excited Starflight for he actually felt like he had a chance with her. But, there was many problems why she wouldn't be with him. Starflight was blind now and there was still Fatespeaker who loved Starflight dearly and maybe too much. Maybe I feel that way about Sunny Starflight had thought when he finally realized why Fatespeaker was acting a bit odd. But there was also a more obvious reason why Starflight and Sunny wouldn't work out. Sunny only liked him as a friend...
Starflight had finally told Sunny he loved her before they went to rescue the captured Rainwings and she had said, "I'll see you after." Once they saved the Rainwings, Starflight then went blind from the volcano and to make it worse, Sunny had then gone missing. He had been so heart struck thinking What if Sunny is dead? If she is, I'm glad I told her I loved her but Starflight didn't want to believe she was dead. After many days of him just laying on the bed of the healer's hut, Sunny had burst into the room and he could once again feel the heat coming off from her scales. Fatespeaker was also there and he could feel her tense up as she noticed Sunny was back. After that, the dragonets had saved the world from the war and that's when Sunny had said, "I love you as a friend. Go with Fatespeaker," and then it was over.
It had now been many days after that and they were now running a school with all the dragon types. Starflight ran the library and got to talk with many students who read often like he once did but he occasionally got a visit from Sunny which he enjoyed. The problem was, Starflight couldn't let go of the fact how much he loved Sunny. He had loved her his whole life and he wasn't going to just quit. He was going to try something different. A type of different that Tsunami would do.
It was midday, around the time students and his special someone would come in the library. He was actually nervous even though he had practiced what he would say. I'm so sad Starflight said to himself but he had to do whatever he had to do to get a Sunny in his life.
"Hey Starflight!" someone said.
"Sunny?" Starflight questioned.
"No, Kinkajou," Kinkajou answered confused, "I thought you were now able to tell who it was from our voices."
"I can, I'm just not myself right now," Starflight responded. He was really nervous of what he was just about to do. I think I need to practice more he thought.
"Oh, it's cool. I'm going to go find Moon now. See ya!" Kinkajou exclaimed. Starflight then heard her run out of the cave and he was alone again. Did I get the schedule mixed up? I'm pretty sure it's break right now.
Suddenly he heard footsteps coming his way. Sunny! Oh moons, Sunny...
All his practicing felt like it had gone away and Starflight was starting to shake. His heartbeat was gaining speed and he was also getting sick. The footsteps sounded louder now and he braced himself for the impact of warm scales sliding into the room.
The dragon walked in and he felt no heat pressing into his body. Not Sunny but who...
"Hello Starflight. Just going to read in here."
It was Sora. A calm Mudwing who was related to his friend, Clay. Starflight relaxed and said, "Ya, sure. Read ahead." Starflight was distracted by the conversation that he didn't hear another dragon walk in.
"Hi Starflight!"
This time he knew it was Sunny. Her warm atmosphere brightened wherever she went and he instantly gained confidence.
"Oh, Sunny!" he replied.
"Whatcha doing?" asked Sunny.
"Just my job at the library," answered Starflight.
"Ha, nice. Want me to read you a scroll?" Sunny asked.
"That would be nice. Thank you," Starflight stated.
"No problem Nightwing!" added Sunny. She reached over to the many bookshelves and pulled out his favorite book, one about Nightwings before the war ended, and started reading.
Starflight tried to look at her even though he couldn't see. He wanted to show that he was paying attention and that he liked her company. Come on Starflight, let's do it now.
"Hey Sunny," Starflight spoke.
"Ya Starflight," nodded Sunny.
Here it goes...
"Sunny, I guess you're a proton and I'm an electron, because I'm attracted to you," squeaked Starflight.
Sunny started giggling. She's not taking me seriously! I need to keep going.
"Sunny, if I got a star every time you brightened my day, my wings would overflow," Starflight continued.
Sunny just kept laughing. Great Starflight thought. Oh well, I've already started. I'll just keep going.
"Sunny, I might not have my powers yet, but I can see something between us working out."
This got Sunny. She started shrieking with laughter.
"I never knew you could be so funny Starflight," Sunny responded.
No! She doesn't believe me. She's not taking me seriously.
Without thinking ahead, Starflight lunged his snout forward and tried to press his snout against Sunny's. Because of his blindness, he missed her lips and ended up kissing her on her ear. I'm such a disgrace. I just want to curl up in a ball and never come out.
"Starflight--" Sunny stopped mid sentence. She then decided to just lean over and hug Starflight and said, "I don't know if I want a relationship but you might've changed my mind." She nuzzled Starflight and he smiled.
"I don't know if right now is a good time but I'll remember this and see later on," Sunny finished.
"Whatever's good for me," Starflight commented back.
They continued hugging and Starflight then heard footsteps walk out of the door and realized Sora was there the whole time listening to their conversation. Oops...
Hope you like this one! Poor Starflight. He had to practice just to talk to Sunny! Anyway, I'll post again next Friday and don't forget to comment!
