"This or that?" Maithili cocked an eyebrow at him with her hands in the air.
Nikshit watched her showcase two sarees again, for the fifth time now. He pointed at one, which was again rejected with a distasteful click of tongue and another set of hangers were held up for him to choose.
Unfortunately, his face gave away the confusion as soon as he'd opened his mouth.
"Red?"
"You don't know anything. No sense of fashion. You move away. Bhabhi, you choose." Maithili waved her hand in dismissal and walked past him, towards Kaushiki who was also sitting among a pile of clothes. Kaushiki kept the dress she'd finalized for herself aside and finally gave attention to Maithili.
"We still have three hours. Plenty of time for you guys to try them all on anyway." Nikshit shrugged nonchalantly making his way out of the room. Attending a business party wasn't a first for Maithili after marriage but a first for one that had an Indo-western theme.
Kaushiki had opted for an elegant black gown with net work on it while Maithili was still obsessing over sarees even though she knew she wasn't going to find any that'd go with the theme. She loved sarees.
"Ditch the saree for today. The dress which has a cape would go better with the theme and if not that, the golden evening gown looks gorgeous as well." Kaushiki pointed at the two dresses which were sprawled on the bed. Maithili looked at the dresses again, contemplating about them for a while, with a lot going inside her head about which jewelry and footwear to pair them with.
"Okay, I'll go with the gown then." She finally decided and picked it up to look in the mirror.
The twins were taking a nap right beside the bed in their cradle, too deep into the sleep, undisturbed by the ongoing chaos inside the room. Both the girls were very calm all the time, playful or sleepy mostly as long as their stomach was full.
Vidhart, who was downstairs with a laptop on his lap, looked up when Nikshit stood in front of him. He kept it aside once Nikshit was seated beside him, forwarding an apple.
"How's it going? All good?" Vidhart asked, staring at the small dent that was on the apple with a frown and kicked his brother's leg that was beside his. Nikshit had deliberately given it to him. Vidhart did not like to eat fruits with even a little dent on them.
"All good. I'll send you the rest of the documents and updates altogether later. Your empire is in good hands, almighty Vidhart, don't worry. I'll treat it as my own." Nikshit grinned, getting an eye roll in return from Vidhart who was biting on the apple from the better side.
"I like it there. I can stay there permanently if you want to stay in Delhi. I've been eyeing a house as well lately."
"If you want to stay there, stay in the villa. One of us is going to stay in either of the places. It'll be all yours, wherever you live." Vidhart stated the obvious. Nikshit didn't say anything further.
He knew that of course but he still wanted to buy one, exclusively which he could say he bought it from the money he'd earned from his years of hard work and who knows what will happen in the future.
