How To Make This Work

Paul's POV

I woke up this morning from having a long day yesterday. I took Julie to the beach but, it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. Something happened and Julie called Louis to come get her. I want my niece to know she can trust me. I decided to throw her a party. A party to show her that she is welcomed here and that, she can trust me. I get up and gather all the boys together. 

"Alright I need someone to take Julie out of the house for the day until were all set up" I say to the lads. 

"Who will do that" harry asked.

"I can" Niall says 

"ok good, so while you two are out we will set up" I say smiling.

I hope this works, I want Julie to feel apart of this new life and family. 

Niall's POV

I go upstairs and get dressed. I go into Julie's room and wake her up. She looks like an angel when she sleeps. I see her shift and open her eyes. 

"Morning Beautiful"  I say opening her curtains. 

"Morning Ni, what time is it" she asked.

"10:15 am" I say sitting her up.

"You might want to shower and get dressed because you and I are hanging for the day" I tell her 

"where we going" She asks

"Anywhere you want" I say

I walk out of the room to let her do what she needs too. 

Julie's POV

I hop out of bed and jump in the shower. I get out and get dressed. I dress for the occasion. I want to go to the batting cages to hit some balls, so, I wear a deep purple faded tank top, with my short shorts and white converse.

"I'm ready" I say walking down the stairs.

"Babe you look beautiful" Zayn says.

He picks me up, spins me around and kisses me passionately on the lips. He puts me down and I head out the door with Niall. 

"so, where do you want to go" he asks me

"Can we got to the batting cages" I ask

"Of course we can" he says taking a right into town. 

"do you want to get lunch after" he asks

"I'm all set" I tell him

We pull up to the batting cages and I run in getting a bat that is easy for me to swing but has power when I swing. Niall follows me into the arena and were both in different cages. I hit almost every ball missing about 4. Niall missed almost every single one. 

"You suck" I say walking out of my cage

He smiles at me and I hear a whistle come from behind me. I see that kid from the beach. I take off running into the girls bathroom. I hear arguing and everything is quiet. I hear Niall knocking on the door calling my name. 

"Jule's, honey, please come out. Let's have a good day" he says begging. 

I slowly walk out with my head down. I try to hide tears but Niall catches one and holds me close to him. 

"Honey, what has you so upset" he asks holding me

I run back to the car and watch as Niall pays for our session. He comes walking back in and starting the car. He turns the radio on and try from Colbie Caillat comes on.  I hear the song and burst into tears.

"Niall's POV

I don't know whats wrong with her today. I hold her and turn the car off sitting in the parking lot. I move her on my lap and she leans her head on my chest. I let her cry it out and I figure I should probably turn off the radio. 

"Honey, I can't help unless I know whats wrong" I tell her.

"I don't know whats wrong Ni" she says her cries slowing down.

I put her back in her seat and take off. I am taking her to a spot that means a lot to me I hope this helps her.

I pull across from the park and take Julie by the hand and walk her down some stairs that lead into the woods and to a waterfall. Julie's face is priceless. 

"Niall, this is beautiful" she says sitting on a rock watching the water pour down. 

" I knew you'd like it" I say hugging her. We stay here for about an hour or two and I start to head home when we get a flat. I get out my phone and call for a tow truck. The company i sending one to our location in about 20 minutes. Finally the tow truck arrives. He gives us a lift back to our place. 

Paul's POV

Everything is all set up for Julie. We have a huge bowl of fruit salad, cake, pizza, chips and dip, pepperoni, cheese, and crackers. I hear a car pull up and I tell everyone to hide and turn the lights off.

I watch as the door opens and Niall and Julie walk in. We all yell surprise and Julie stops dead in her tracks. She covers her mouth and we all gather around her giving her a hug. 

"Thank you Uncle paul" she says running up to me and hugging me. 

I hold my niece not expecting her to hug me. I feel my shirt getting wet and Julie is crying. I hold her tighter shushing her calming her down. Julie gets into the dancing and singing and she ends up having a really good time. 

At the end of the day we are all laying on the couch watching TV. I see Julie falling asleep. I carry her upstairs and lay her in her bed. I go back downstairs and make the boys bring themselves upstairs. I still need to talk to Julie and Zayn tomorrow about their relationship. I'm worried about a lot of things. I hope they make good choices. I head upstairs strip, shower, and climb into bed. I turn the Ac on and I lay there thinking about how well the party thing worked. I love My niece and I'm glad that she is back in my life. I don't know what I'd do with out her.
