Accident

Julie's POV

I woke up this morning in my own bed for once. I should start sleeping in my own bed because my bed's comfy. I crawl out of bed and jump in the shower. I get out and wrap my purple towel around me. I go back into my room and throw on my faded pink shorts and my black tank top. I walk downstairs to get breakfast.

"Morning everyone" I say sitting at the table

I got a chorus of mornings and I sat quietly eating my waffles and drinking my juice. I put my plate in the sink and look around for my uncle, I have something to tell him. 

"Hey Liam, have you seen my uncle" i ask sitting next to liam on the couch. 

"Yeah sweetie, he's at a meeting" he says

I nod my head and go upstairs to lie down and watch TV. I was watching a movie when an important news message comes on. 

-Body Guard, Paul Higgins caught in a traffic accident, and possible badly injured-

I cover my mouth in shock. I run downstairs and go outside. I hop on my skateboard and rush over to the hospital. I jump off my skateboard and rush in. I see a lady typing on a computer and I rush over to see her. 

"May I help you" she asks looking at me through her red glasses.

"Yes, has a Paul Higgins been brought in" I ask nervous.

"Yes, he's in surgery right now, are you family" she asks

"Yes, I'm his niece." I say almost in tears

She types something into the computer and tells me to have a seat in the waiting room. She asks me my name before I sat down and I wait for any news. I text Zayn telling him where I am so their not worried. They said their on their way. I see a doctor looking around and then his eyes fall on me. 

"are you Juliette Higgins" he asks me 

"yes, I am, Hows my uncle doc" I ask shaking. 

"Well, Hun, to be honest, hes not doing too good" He says

I sit there and I can't fight back the tears anymore. He sits next to me and gives me a side hug. He calls over a nurse named Jane to sit with me until an adult gets here for me.

"I'm sorry to hear about your uncle sweetheart" she says hugging me

"I was never nice to him, this is my fault" I say crying.

She holds me by my shoulders and looks me in the face.

"Honey, nothing is your fault" she says.

"I never wanted to accept him as my uncle, I felt so abandoned by my dad, he looks like my dad who I lost when I was 10 and I blamed him. What kind of niece am I" I ask quietly.

"I have a story for you Juliette, I'm adopted. My parents gave me up when I was about the age you were when you lost your parents. I resented my adopted parents day after day and I never allowed them to get close to me. Well, one day, I lost my adopted mother in a car accident with a drunk driver and I regretted never giving her the chance to get to know her. After that, my adopted father, Steven, he was there for me day after day. He never left my side. I got really close to him and we became the best of friends. I love Steven. I love him as if he was my real father. Juliette, what I'm saying Hun is don't do what I did because it may be too late. Your uncle will never replace your father and I'm sure he doesn't want to either he just wants to be close to you like my adopted father and I am. I'm sure he loves you to pieces honey" She tells me

I sit there and take in what she said and she goes down to the cafe and gets me a drink. I hear the doors of the hospital open and the One D boys are standing there looking for me. Zayn is the first to notice me and he runs over and picks me up. I wrap my legs around his waist and he supports my butt so he doesn't drop me. 

"Baby, I'm so sorry" he says holding me. 

I bury my face in his neck and cry some more. We all sit down and I'm sitting on Zayn's lap. He has to go to the bathroom and I sit on Louis's lap as he rubs my back. It's been about 3 hours and we still haven't heard anything. I get up and start pacing. I am about to do another pace when I hear my name being called. 

"Juliette" I turn around and it's the doctor. 

"How my uncle" Is the first thing out of my mouth. 

"He's out of surgery and in his own room, you may go see him now" he says smiling

I run into his room and hes sleeping. The boys give me a couple minutes alone with my uncle.

"Uncle Paul, I am so sorry. I love you so much. I resented you because I thought you wanted to take my fathers place, I felt abandoned by my parents and I hated you for it because you were  his brother, I didn't want to get close to you. You look like him, sound like him, act like him, and, it kills me. In reality though I should be happy you guys look so much alike because, it's like having him here. I want to be close like we were again and I am going to be a better niece. I'm so sorry, this is all my fault." I cry hugging his body. I slowly feel a hand stroke my hair and I look up seeing my uncle moving his hand. 

I call for the boys and they see him stroking my hair. 

Zayn's POV

When Julie told us what was going on and where she was I had all the boys rush to the hospital with me. Paul is like a father to us all. Julie must be taking this hard. I got to the hospital and we all looked around and I saw her sitting alone swinging her legs. I sat down with her on my lap and the boys followed. I got up to go to the bathroom and I came back and everyone was gone. I walked over to a room and saw all the boys in there and Julie.

"What's going on" I ask

"Paul moved his hand and stroked Julie's head while she was hugging him" Harry said.

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. I walk over and were all sitting in his room waiting for him to wake up. 

Liam's POV

We all sat down and waited for Paul to wake up. I fell asleep and Julie layed next to Paul in the bed. I woke up around 3:15 am and Julie was still sleeping along with everyone else. I went back to bed until I heard small sniffles coming from the bed. I stand up and look over Julie's body and see that shes awake. She's crying again. I pick her up and put her in my lap. 

"Jule's you need to sleep honey" i tell her trying to calm down.

"I haven't been to bed yet" she says yawning.

"Julie, your clearly tired hun, get some sleep." I tell her.

I look down at her and kiss her forehead and I see her snuggle into me. Me, Niall, Harry, and Louis are all like brothers to her. Julie is finally asleep and I go back to bed too. 

Later in the morning---------------------------------

Harry's POV

I woke up about 10:27 am and I saw Paul watching TV. I ran over and hugged him.

"It's nice to see you Hazza" he says laughing.

"we've all missed you" I tell him.

He looks over and sees Julie sleeping on Liam. He looks at me and I know what he wants. I go over and lightly pick up Julie and lay her next to him. She automatically cuddles up into Paul. He wraps his arms around her holding her. 

"I've missed her" he says. 

I pull out my phone and show him the recording of what Julie said yesterday while she was talking to his body. He starts tearing up and holds Julie tighter. Paul is going to be ok and I couldn't ask for anything more.
