You know what I don't get?

In stories where the main character loses their memory, how do they know how to talk or write?

Most of the time, the story is in the main character's POV. My question is , how are they writing the book?

In real life, if someone lost all their memories, they'd turn into either a giant baby or a blubbering idiot.

Not that a lot of people suffer from amnesia.

Which really isn't what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about losing all of their memories.

That would include learning to read and right. And even talk. Amnesiacs only forget a certain amount of time in their memories. Maybe even certain people. (You don't know a goddamn thing about amnesia, 12 year old me. So stop it. 3/10/16)

What would you do if you lost ALL your memories?

Not knowing who you are, how to read and write, how to talk, even who your parents are.

You wouldn't be like the people in these stories. First of all, you wouldn't go off kicking some ass. Because you wouldn't know how. Also you wouldn't talk and say smart-ass comments to the "villain". You couldn't even talk. You also couldn't walk.

Talking, walking, reading, writing, and kicking ass are all learned things. You wouldn't, no, couldn't do any of those things.

I have a question that I want answered in the comments.

What would you do if you had amnesia?

Now we're not talking about losing ALL your memories, just a certain point in time.

Answer that question in the comments.
