So, my dad always complains that he does all the cleaning around the house. He always says that mum should contribute to the cleaning.
He doesn't seem to understand that she works all day and night.
When she comes home, she's tired, believe it or not. My mum sometimes works 24 hour shifts or more, with only about two or three hours in between her two jobs.
My dad always says that he "works a fifty hour week, too" as if that can stand up to how much my mum works.
With my mum, her work week is most likely close to or over a hundred hours a week.
I don't get why my dad doesn't understand that he gets around four in the afternoon. He goes to work at 4 am. He has off Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. My dad has a consistent schedule with his work.
My mom fits in hours anytime she can. Sometimes she works overnight, even though she's already worked all day.
A lot of the time my mom works overtime every week.
When I was downstairs in the kitchen with my dad, guess what he said?
"I'm a man. My wife should be doing this."
He was talking about wiping off a damn counter. Like, get over it, you sexist asshole.
You have to wipe off a damn counter, while mum has sixteen hours of work ahead of, after she had gone to work at 8:30 this morning, got home around 1:30, then left again at 3:00.
And even then, sometimes her shifts get moved around or another person wants her to cover their shift.
Okay, that's my rant for the day.
