"Nicole, if you don't hurry your gonna be late!"

"Alright alright i'm coming," I ran down the stairs, kissing my moms cheek, out to my car.

I started my way to school, speeding down the streets, and swerving into my usual parking. After not even 2 minutes of pulling up, i had Jodi standing outside my car.

"Hey hun," she smiled brightly.

"Hey Jodi, how did last night go?"

"well, let's just say i officially am out of the house."She smirked and then laughed.

My eyes grew, "Are you serious???" I almost yelled loud enough that everyone in the parking lot looked my way, that made me laugh. But we started celebrating with giggles and talk of how to decorate it and plans, while walking up the steps to the high school. We headed towards our lockers, to find Drew awaiting our arrival.

"Hey females, took you long enough to get here," he flashed us a white smile, causing his little dimple to show.

"Well i'm very sorry, but i'm sure you'll be glad to hear that Jodi finally has her own place," i smirked slightly.

He chuckled, giving her a hug, "Alright Jodi! 'Bout time, i'd say."

We were all then talking about her place and how happy we were for her, when Ty runs down the hall, and puts his arms around Drew and Jodi's necks.

"Aye guys, how are we today?" He was smiling and making eye contact with Jodi. I let her explain it because i was tired of repeating myself.

The bell rung, we all headed to class hoping for an easy Monday.

I walked out to our normal lunch table, waiting for someone to show up. Drew sauntered over, shades hiding his red eyes. He sat across from me pulling out a cigarette, and pressing it to his full lips. I watched the reflection of the flame in the black of his sunglasses. He looked up,

"How are you doin?" I bite on the inner part of my lip.

"I'm alright, how about yourself?" He took a drag off his cigarette, blowing it into the sky.

"Fantastic." His reply had a weird sourness hidden. But i left it alone, i knew not to ask too many questions with him.

Drew and I have a long history, neither one of us have talked about in almost 2 years. Basically, he cheated on me with some girl he met at a party and didn't care about me afterwards. So i left him. But we continue to be in each others life, not close, but close enough. After a long silence, Ty shows up with Jodi at his side. Ty and Jodi have been a thing for a year or 2 now, but never admit to their feelings. Its a skinny love. I remember the first time i caught them kissing in his car, they tried to act like nothing had happened but i that obviously failed. Jodi's face blushed bright red and Ty was looking at his feet. Busted.

They sat down and proceeded to talk to us. But then there was a pause,

"Nikki, why don't you come live with me??" She had a light in her eyes, and she was bouncing around in her seat. There's no way i could have said no, plus i wanted to move out and live by my rules. And making things even better, it would be with my best friend. I let a big smile creep out,

"Sure, why not?" She exploded with excitement and hugged the life out of me. She was saying how next week we could go shopping for decor and all the junk. It definitely made her happy and that just made the day go by so much smoother.

Because next thing i know the last bell rings out and I'm heading out to my car with Jodi. Ty and Drew walked over to us engaging in a conversation. Drew seemed a little more quiet than usual, Jodi seemed to notice as well and knew i wasn't going to ask so she did.

"Hey Drew, you okay?"

He looked at her with a dullness, "No, not really," he paused and then Ty spoke up.

"Well hey its been a while since the last went on a road trip, so how about we plan another one? Spring break is next week, you guys down?" He seemed excited about it so we all agreed and then split up heading home.

Once home, i went up stairs and laid on my bed. For some reason my head today had been all over the place, and i wasn't quite sure as to why. My mind instantly went to Drew. I knew my heart was still mending and that it was normal to still feel something towards him. But this was a different feeling, i felt full when i thought about his smile or his bright blue eyes that for so long seemed warm and loving, his jet black hair after i just ran my finger through it , and his tall figure holding mine every night. And now, his eyes seem stone cold, his smile is now a dull shine, and his body is no longer holding mine but holding every other girl he takes home with him. I shook my head, trying to clear away the thoughts.

I really do hope i can get over him, but for now that's just a work in process.
