Part of Day's new house - The living room.
* * * *
Since that day that Athanasius said he liked me, I had been spending a lot of time with him.
Marina had left the house during out fight and hadn't came back for a couple days. I didn't see her. In that time, I had found a new place to live. It was a small house that I adored, Athanasius helped me pack my stuff up and move in before Marina got back.
I liked having my own place, it provided the perfect amount of solitariness and comfort.
It was a Thursday night, the air crisp with a breeze, the sky an indigo-rose hue. I was in the small fenced backyard, gardening flowers, fruits and vegetable plants. Athanasius was coming over tonight for dinner and I had already cooked the food.
I heard a twig snap behind me, making me spin around quickly. Highly alert and slightly afraid, I surveyed the forest to see where that sound came from. I found nothing.
Walking inside, I shut the door and locked it. I turned around and found myself being forcibly slammed back against the door, knocking the air from my lungs.
I looked up to see an unfamiliar face, red eyes and a wolfish grin.
"Well, well, look what we got here," he said.
I struggled against his ridiculously firm grasp, trying to get out from under it. "Let me go," I spoke from behind gritted teeth.
"Ooh, you're nervy aren't you. Feisty one, eh? It's alright though, love. I quite like my women that way." He slowly brought his face to my neck, my body stiffening. He brushed his lips against my neck and grinned. "Your blood smells so sweet."
Athanasius's Point of View
I was headed out of my room, planning to go see Day for dinner tonight at her house. I quite liked her house, it was small and cozy.
Whenever I was headed to see her, I got nervous. I never usually got nervous around women but the was something else. She was someone else. I wanted to impress her, I wanted her to like me.
As I arrived at her house, I knew something was wrong immediately. The door was ajar and as I stepped inside, the smell of cooked food and blood filled my nose. Day's blood.
My heart was beating so heavily as I walked around trying to figure out what was going on. The food she made was sitting on the kitchen counter, untouched and neat. I then saw the living room where the door leading to the backyard was. There was blood on the door, smeared and dripping down. This was recent, very recent. There was a puddle of it on the floor, bloody footsteps leading away from the scene.
I was absolutely livid. I was enraged that someone would come in Day's house and harm her. Whoever that person was already had a timer on their life.
I raced back home, furious. As I reached the lobby, I walked at a very fast pace before one of the front desk ladies, stood before me stopping me in my tracks.
"Get out of the way," I commanded, not having time for bullshit.
"Athanasius, come on. No need to be such a grouch. How about I come up with you to your room, and maybe we can relieve some of that anger of yours," she spoke seductively.
I then reached for her neck, snapping it. She fell to the floor, her body limp.
After impatiently waiting for the elevator to get to the floor, I finally walked into the living room where my whole family was seated.
