My Ships (for this): Percabeth, Jasper, Frazel, Caleo, Solangelo, Tratie, Chrisse
What I really ship: Percabeth, Jasper, Frazel, Thalico, Tratie, Chrisse,
In a flash, one month had past. The campers from all over America came to celebrate the defeat of Gaia, and to mourn the deaths of their fellow friends, and most importantly, Leo Valdez. The Seven went away to Bunker 9 to find anything else that they could remember Leo by, but the only thing they could find was themselves crying their heads out. Me and Vic could do nothing to help them, for we never knew Leo Valdez, only the memories of him.
Still we did our best to comfort them, but they were fine on their own. Piper and Jason were inconsolable, but Nico was edging towards the edge of camp, into the forest. Glancing around, I raced after him. "Di Angelo!" I called. He turned towards me, a cold glare on his face. "Di Angelo, I know you're hiding something. You can't hide it from me. You couldn't hide it from Hazel. So you told her. Leo is alive, isn't he? His death felt weird, right?"
Nico glared at me. "How did you know?" His glare suddenly melted into a disappointed frown. "Ah, I see. You're one of those people that can read people really well. Like Annabeth, yet you figured it out before her. For your information, yes, you are right for all of it. I can feel his life force nearing here."
I gave him a cold smile. "10 drachmas that he'll make an appearance at the campfire?"
"Deal." he returned the cold smile.
I left him alone moping around, so I recalled all I had learned in this one month. I had become a instant hit with the Athena cabin, and I could compete with Will Solace bow vs bow. Clarisse favored Vic, but she liked me as well, and sometimes you could see us sparring her spear on my sword, and although she won half the time, I was improving rapidly. I took pegasus riding lessons on Blackjack, and I realized that I had a good connection to horses.
I decided to let off some steam in the arena, and it just so happened that Vic was there. "Hey Hell!" she called, "One on one, like the old times?"
I smiled, "Sure thing, Vic. And remember the Hell rule?"
"If I lose after calling you Hell, you get to beat the hell out of me."
I grinned. "You're getting Hella smart." It was an old joke between us. And the new rule was ever since I beat her badly sword to sword, and she cried 'Have Hella mercy, sis!'
She shot a golden arrow at me, and I dodged it, starting to advance with my own arrows. She struck all of them out of the air with her bow and started to advance, so now we were both shooting rapid arrows at each other. Giving up dodging, I put my bow away and took out my sword. Shadowslayer, it whispered in my mind. I started to slice arrows out of the air like a demon, Stygian iron coated in silver slicing through the air. Vic took out her's, a celestial bronze blade with an imperial gold coating. Our arrow fight turned into a sword fight, and gold attacked silver, so we were nothing but a blue.
A crowd was starting to gather around. I dodged a strike and swiped in. She parried and our minds were on auto-pilot. Jab, dodge, swipe, lunge. Soon, I had my sword to her neck and her newly reacquired bow pointed to my face, an arrow nocked in ready to shoot. It was a tie. We heard applause ringing behind us, and it was Percy, Clarisse and Annabeth.
"Pay up, guys, it was a tie." Annabeth smirked. Percy and Clarisse sighed.
"Thanks for believing in me, Chase." I said sarcastically as we made our way to the girl toilets.
"You're welcome, Carter." She smiled, and rolled her eyes.
----Time Lapse----
Soon, night fell, and we gathered around the camp fire. The fire, reflecting our moods, was dull and small, even though we were celebrating a great victory, we had suffered a great loss with the death of our friends. Chiron continued with his speech. "Our victory would not have been successful if it was not for the brave campers who lots their lives. And most of all, Leo Valdez, may live on in Elysium."
