Leah was so angry even Dom was starting to edge away from her as she gestured wildly with a glare in her eyes. "Are you telling me." She said, looking pointedly at me, "That Tom, our Tom, is secretly a spy for Nyx and is involved with Alice?"
"Yes." I said for the millionth time, "Will you stop? I still don't get why you keep mentioning about Alice and Tom's relationship. It's annoying all of us, even Max."
"You're nothing but the daughter of the maiden goddess. What would you know about love?" Leah answered in return, face full with fury and outrage.
"And the daughter of Poseidon, and Athena." I counted off with my fingers, further infuriating Leah. "I'm a child of the hunt and warfare. I know that love and war, or death, if you like it, is more closely related than people think. The Makai unleashed rage and fury, but there was still love at the end, because no one goes to war without caring for someone, whether a friend or family."
Leah looked slightly shell-shocked, and then looked to Dom for some reassurance. Finding no response, she looked at Max who just shrugged his shoulders and did a shooing symbol with his fingers. "Don't look at me, I'm the stupid mortal anyways, am I not?"
I looked at Leah. "I understand your fury-"
"No you don't! Your way with words can't affect me, child of wisdom." Leah interrupted.
"Is that a compliment or an insult?" I enquired, calmly picking my nails with a dagger. "Because with you daughters of love I'm never sure. Maybe you're just an airhead like Drew."
Leah was ready to blow. "Tori would be ashamed of you."
That was a low blow. I even heard Dom take in a short intake of breath. My voice was so quiet even I could hardly hear it. "What did you say?"
"tori would be ashamed of you. As she died, you promised to avenge her. To defeat Nyx. You, bickering aimlessly at me, being the cold heartless person you are inside, is not going to help us defeat Nyx."
"Neither is you constantly bugging us, Leah. You think I'm just acting cool because underneath I'm as cold as ice. Did I look as cold as ice when I unleashed my rage on to the 500 hellhounds? When tears ran down my face and I had no shame to let them fall? Is that what you think I am? A heartless monster."
Leah soon realised what she had done. Good for her, took her long enough. Around me, I could feel the water in the drinking fountain nearby turn to ice as my rage took over slowly. She looked up slowly at me, eyes full with shame.
"You must admit, Thea. You are slightly heartless. But if you were heartless, you would be a heartless warrior, a hunter. Loyal to the bones. I hope you forgive me, my friend."
"Woah." I said, smile back on my face. "That was deep. Who thought Leah Kingsley could perform such a beautiful and sincere apology."
"Don't let me take that back, Carter." She said.
"Back at you, Kingsley. Now, let's go back to where we were before Madam Leah decided to blow."
Dom hurried to fill in the silence before Leah blew up again. "Nyx. Your dream. What happened? How did you know about Tom?"
"A gift from Hemera herself. I was pushed into her body thanks to Clotho, and then I eavesdropped on their conversation. Then I was caught, and then they had a very unemotional mother-daughter argument and then I woke up. Full stop." I said.
"What exactly was in the conversation?" Max said. His grey eyes looked like Annabeth's when her mind was whirring that I still thought that he was a child of Athena.
