I leapt into the night, a green mint cloak wrapped around me and a scarf surrounding my face, only showing my eyes. They couldn't catch me sneaking me out of the Camp, since they had set up a patrol to make sure that no other monsters could get in.
Also, effectively locking us in.
All magic abilities had also been disabled inside, so I could not just simply disappear into pure thought.
Reyna was always on patrol now, and I could see her dark eyes narrow as she searched the outer sections of Camp Jupiter, as she stood guard at the mouth of the tunnel. I inched behind the first guard, a legionnaire from the 3rd Cohort with brown hair and ice blue eyes. A second one was in front of him, this time a girl with black hair tied in a bun. She seemed to shift towards me and I instantly froze, my green cloak swept in front of me, camouflaging me with the surrounding moss that covered the tunnel.
The guard returned to her post, and I continued my way through. Following the same routine past the other 3 guards, and soon only Reyna was left. But she was on the move.
As stealthy as a panther, she slipped past the entrance and on to Berkeley Hills. Confused, I followed her. She soon made her way to the entrance of the Mount Othrys, and the fortress at the top of the hill seemed darker, taller, grander. More evil.
She entered and started to call in latin. "Veni, mi domina. Parvulus sum, ut belli usus Veneris. Intra dominae et servus tuus ante tuos procubuisse pedes. Tuus sum ordinem servare meus es tu. Ingredere terram ubi pro servo tuo, ut ambules in eadem humo degunt." (Come my lady. I enter as the child of War, to serve the Night. Enter, my lady, and see your humble servant at your feet. I am yours to order, you are mine to obey. Enter the land of where your slave stands, the same ground that you will walk.)
Dark spirals began to light up around her, and turning into pure thought, I hovered above Reyna, looking at her eyes to see what was wrong with her. Eyes are the windows to the soul. In her eyes I saw a terrified girl, screaming as a weathered old man, in his 40s, threw a chair at Hylla, which looked several years younger. I saw the ghosts on the balcony, shouting taunts as she battled the giant Orion.
Marks began to appear on her forearms as the darkness began to suck things in, and they swirled of greek letters and symbols. Darkness, fear, anger, sorrow, shame... το σκοτάδι, ο φόβος, ο θυμός, θλίψη, ντροπή, they swirled in hypnotizing patterns along her skin, and I looked in shock as white began to leave her body in a wisp of white smoke, which was soon made disappeared by a sharp shadow. Like Nyx was controlling it in the darkness.
Speaking of the devil. "You have come, foolish Praetor." Her voice bellowed in the darkness.
"Yes, mistress."
"Do you come alone?"
"Yes, mistress." she refused to meet the primordial's eyes.
"Are you afraid?"
"N..no mistress."
"You are afraid." Nyx declared. "A true warrior admits her fear. It shows that she is strong. Are you strong?"
"No, mistress."
"You are correct. You are nothing but a weak and pathetic soldier, not even a warrior. You broke the moment I used Thea to spark up your worst nightmares. And you hardly came out sane. If I had not healed your broken mind, you would have been cast into the depths of my brother."
"Yes, mistress."
"Now. What have you to give me?" Reyna handed her a small black vial, filled with swirls of green, orange and purple.
"This is the things that have happened in the camps, my lady. A full recount." She held another black device, this time like a holograph. "And this is my surveillance I have put on Argum and Argentum. They will find anyone and show you their situation. They will put anyone down if they have to."
