"Wait here." I gestured to Emily, who waited patiently, obviously not in a rush to go head inside the lair of an evil crazy primordial. She nodded as I went through the door, careful to step over the smartly put trip wire that led to a bottle of Greek Fire, which meant that if I touched the wire, the vibration would cause the bottle to fall over and most likely set me on fire.

I continued to dodge the various tricks and traps that Nyx had set up, with most of them leading to another to confuse me. Definitely Tom's work. After disabling a cleverly hidden trap-door that was impossible to jump over, I arrived in a huge hall, with a pure black throne in the middle with three smaller thrones by the side. One red, one black, and one black-and-white swirls. The red and black-and-white one was occupied by Alice and Tom.

The black throne was barely visible, as what I believed was Nyx sat on it, since it was a whirling storm of darkness. A goddess was locked up in the corner, gagged and bound by golden, bronze and black chains, white mist swirling off her dress.

Hecate.

I snuck up upon it, killing any monsters that came near enough to see me, and soon Nyx's personal guard was reduced to yellow dust. That was easy.

Too easy.

"Hey, Thea! Nice of you to join us." Tom drawled lazily, leaning back on his seat. "I knew you would take the Labyrinth, but how on earth did you reach us? How did you navigate?"

I decided to fib. "You know I've always been one to be logical. Pasiphaë has too much of a pattern, I found how her Labyrinth moves. I'm a daughter of Athena, and Athena always, always has a plan."

"Oh really? Then do you have a plan for this?" Dark ropes suddenly shot out of the walls and ceilings and although I dodged a few, they eventually leashed on to my wrists and ankles. Alice came towards me to take my weapons, but I lashed out with my feet and snarled at her.

"Don't come towards me, bitch." I hissed. Turning into pure thought, I tried to escape, but the dark ropes still lashed on to me. I thought that pure thought was literally just thin air? Nyx finally spoke, and her voice filled with pure hatred. I turned back into human in annoyance.

"You are stupid for a child of Wisdom. You should be honored that you had been bound by the ropes of the Night. Nothing but celestial bronze and imperial gold can free you, so the precious silver knives in your belt cannot free you." she said as I struggled to reach my belt. Pausing, I lowered my feet and focused on bending my elbows to reach Tori's sword, deep in my quiver.

A wisp of black shadows whipped past my face, and suddenly I felt more drained than I ever had been. I could see Alice smile. "There is no escape." She began to control the dark wisps of shadows and made then whip me as I doubled over in pain, my body flinching and shaking every time it hit.

Blood poured down my sides, deep red, scarlet blood. My eyes pooled with tears from the pain before I shook them away. I was a daughter of Artemis. I must be strong. An image of Dom flew past my eyes, and slowly, I started to imagine all my friends, my family's faces as they found my broken body, before they too were destroyed by Night. Gaia had only been killed by that lethal explosion that killed Leo. Nyx was even older than Gaia, the first child of the Chaos, so how could we even stop her?

Suddenly, a moving figure behind me caught my eyes as my body wrenched in pain. Oh gods no. Emily.

"Thea!" she yelled, bringing me back from my mind. "Watch out! Catch!"

I twisted to the side just as a bolt of black energy blasted at where I once was. Emily leaped up and swung her whip at the ropes that bound my feet, and with newfound strength, I caught her whip as she threw it up and sliced my restraints. Running as fast as I could towards the already fleeing Emily, I turned into a wolf as she grabbed my scruff and rode on to my back as we made out escape.
