"Are we there yet?" I asked, in my role as a lost tree nymph.

"Patience, Poplar! Gods... You tree nymphs are so dense." Kelli said. I knew that the moment we reached the nearby of the Doors of Death, she would turn on me. I kept my hand on a dagger at all times, never knowing when Kelli would turn animal on me and tear out my throat. I began to glance around as the terrain turned animalistic.

The ground was soggy and wet, and there were puddles of gold and black, like it was.. blood.

Tartarus's blood.

I began to hop around them, as my mind was screaming from terror, and suddenly, we were standing in front of a small hut. I hopped in, skipping around and girlishly giggling. "What is this place?"

"This is the lair of the giant, Damaesen. But hurry, we have, like, no time to reach the Doors of Death." then she muttered under her breath. "Not like you'll make it."

My wolf ears pricked up. "What did you say?" I asked, whirling around from the now empty cauldron.

"I said we had no time to reach the Doors!" She answered, impatient.

"No, after that. You said, not like you'll make it."

"Of course, because you can't go through the House of Night." She said. "And I can bring you through, just you can't go through it. You'll just have to go through it, in, well, my way."

She suddenly knocked me out in one fluid motion, before her clawed hands grasped upon my pendant, and my body jerked at the touch. Don't break it. Please. No. Luckily, she let go, but not before she whispered. "How strange..." I fell into the land of Morpheus, but I could still see an image of what was happening to me. Kelli dragged me across the plain, and I felt my skin gash from a painful bump on a sharp rock. I soon saw a horrible woman, a person who was an embodiment of misery.

"My lady." Kelli bowed to the goddess.

"My dear Kelli. You have brought misery to many. Chaos bless you."

"Thank you, my lady. I give you a gift. A girl for you to bring misery."

Misery put a hand on my forehead, and suddenly my mind was flashed through my worst fears, my sorrows, and all my friends dying behind me. My tears began to flow and I saw one by one, all the people I knew die by my side, my hand holding a silver knife covered in blood. Red, scarlet, blood. I saw Dom at my feet, bleeding, a silver arrow in his forehead. Leah, her waist separated from her body in a gruesome picture, making me drop to the ground in shame and sorrow. Max, by her side, a spear lodged in his heart. Percy and Annabeth, still hand in hand, both with a knife in their hearts, a silver one.

Frank lay on top of Hazel, a long dagger which first pierced Frank and then Hazel, as Frank tried to protect her. Jason with a arrow in his side, still struggling to rise with a pale Piper in his arms with her side shattered, before Jason fell to the ground as well. Leo bobbed in the lake, drowned, while Calypso, still standing, fought to protect his body. Chiron, our immortal trainer, lay dead among the floor, his bow broken, his quiver empty, and his kind face detached from his body. "This is what you have done." Misery whispered in my ear.

"No!!!" I yelled, and I saw Tori's body fall to the floor with the hellhound on top of her. I watched that all too familiar scene happen, as she died over and over again, in slow motion, making it even more gruesome for me to see. Images began to fly past, and I screamed at them, my mind about to shatter from the pain and anguish I felt. Suddenly, it stopped. Kelli, still bowed towards the lady of Misery.

"Thank you, child. So much pain, it was delicious. And the girl was strong. She is strong, but rest assure she will never be the same. Perhaps a walk through the House of Night will force her mind to the extreme." Misery answered.
