No, no, no, I thought, I hurt him, he shouldn't have come here, now he lays at the bottom of the stairwell, bloodied. I tried rushing down the stairs, but the chains were back around me in an instant. I was bound to them. "Dean," I cried out, tears forming, "please no."
"Hope, you finally did what no one else could do, you killed the one you truly love, to save him from facing me."
"I'm sorry," I said, my head ducking. He lifted my chin, placing a firm kiss on my mouth. My body trembled weakening me further. I looked over at Dean, who started to awaken, unbeknownst to Bray, turning I followed Bray back into the throne room. I sat on the throne next to Bray, closing my eyes, I thought, I am bound to hell no matter which path I choose, if I choose Bray, I will choose death, but if I choose Dean, I choose love, life, and happiness. If I choose Bray, I will lose Dean forever, just like Michael. What would Michael want me to do? What would my father want me to do? What would Jesus want me to do? What should I do?
"Hope, pay attention," Bray snapped, "maybe I should just kill you. You're worthless, now I know why your father sent you here."
"I'm sorry, maybe you should," I said, tears slipping down my face. I am bound to hell, and hell is bound to me.
"There she goes again daydreaming, the lack of focus, no wonder people slip through the Way all the time," Luke said.
"I'm just so tired, and weak, if we only took the chains off for a little while, please, I could focus better."
"You'd just try to run to lover boy," Bray said.
"No I promise I won't."
"Fine, just for a little while," he conceded, Braun strode forward, taking off the shackles roughly.
"Thank you," I said, rubbing my wrists, instantly feeling better. I leaned back, allowing my legs to stretch, reaching up I undid my hair, letting it cascade down around my shoulders, free, that's what I wanted, I wanted my freedom, but freedom from what?
