Chapter Thirty Four

Nagugutom ako.

yun agad naisip ko pag gising ko. hindi ako nakakain buong maghapon eh. maski breakfast hindi. 12 am na ngayon.

dahan dahan kong tinanggal yung braso ni Edward sa bewang ko saka tumayo. i gave him a soft peck on his lips before i went down the kitchen.

buti nalang nandito ako last week. may mga stock ako.

kumuha ako ng garlic bread sa ref saka fresh milk.

nakakatatlong kagat na ko ng garlic bread nung may yumakap sa bewang ko.

Edward put his face above my shoulder and kissed my cheeks.

"Gutom ka?" he said softly.

"Yeah. di ako nakakain buong araw kahapon eh." i answered.

he snorted. "Bat di ka kumain?! tss. dapat kumain ka."

i chuckled softly. "wala nga kasi akong oras. ngayon ka pa nagreklamo kung kelan kumakain na ko."

tumikhim sya. "Okay ka na?" he said softly.

napatigil ako sa pagkagat sana ng garlic bread saka nilapag yon sa platito.

"No, i dont think i'll be alright." i said softly. niyakap nya lang ako ng mahigpit.

"I'm here Hon, okay?" i smiled softly and kissed his cheeks.

"I'll be fine."

"And when the time comes you're ready to tell me what it is. call me okay? i'll drop everything just to listen to you." humarap ako sa kanya saka niyakap sya.

"dont worry Hon, when i'm ready. i'll personally tell you what happened." he smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Come Hon, tapusin mo na yan. you need some rest." kumunot yung noo ko nung may maalala ako.

"How did you know i'm here?" i asked.

"Anton told me. baka daw ayaw mo ng kausap kaya nandito ka." he said then he looked at me. "Galit ka pa sa kanya?"

i sighed "di naman ako nagalit eh. i just felt betrayed that time. but then he's my friend. he did what he did to protect me. who am i to get mad?"

Edward smiled and kissed my lips.

"That's my Andrea."

"Get some sleep okay? try not to think of your Dad, your mom or Marissa. okay?" ngumiti nalang ako saka tumango.

"Goodnight Hon, i love you." i said softly and hugged his waist. pagod.nga siguro ako kasi pagkayakap ko sa kanya napapikit agad ako.

"Sweet dreams Hon. i love you so much." he said softly and kissed my forehead.

"Yes Dad, kasama ko na po sya." mahinang sabi ko habang nakatingin kay Andrea na mahimbing na natutulog sa tabi ko.

"Is she alright?" Daddy Enzo asked.

"Opo, just a bit tired. but she'll be fine." i answered. narinig ko nalang na napabuntong hininga sya.

"di ko na alam kung pano sya kakausapin." nanghihinang sabi nya.

"Dad? if you dont mind me asking. anu po ba talagang nangyari bago namatay si Mommy?" i asked.

"its a long story son." alanganing sabi nya.

"I have all night Dad." i answered.

napabuntong hininga sya. "well Son, i want to tell you but not on the phone."

"i'll talk to you soon Dad." mahinang sabi ko saka nag paalam na sa kanya.

niyakap ko ng mahigpit si Andrea bago pumikit saka matulog.

"Where's mom?" i asked Manang when i went inside the house. she just looked at me with the i-dont-know-if-i-should-tell-you look. i looked at her and went inside the mansion.

the whole mansion is silent. even the drop of the needle can be heard. the master bedroom door is open. i went up immediately to the master bedroom and looked for mom. i found her standing infront of the T.V and Dad sitting on the edge of the bed and another lady sitting on the right side of the bed.

i frowned when i saw Mom's eyes. tears keeps on flowing down her cheeks and there's contempt and pain in her eyes.

"How could you Lorenzo!" Mom said with hate laced on her voice.

"How could you do this to me?" her voice broke.

"I'm sorry Paola." Dad said softly.

"Sorry?" Mom's voice trailed off. "Thats all you can saay!" she shouted.

Dad did not answered her. Mom took a pile of pictures above the T.V. and threw it to his face.

one went at my feet. i took it.

and i think my whole life just stumbled down to where i took the picture.

its Dad and this woman at the right side of the bed. entering a fancy resto. with their hands entwined together.

Nooooooooooo!

not Dad too.

"You know what? i dont wanna believe those photos coz i have trust in you. but then that was the most stupid thing i've ever did." she smiled bitterly and tears started falling on my cheeks. "coz i should have believed thaat when they've been shoving it on my face already! " she shouted again.

"Whats going on?" i said when i found a voice to say something. Mom was shock. and Dad's jaw fell open. then Mom started to sway and fell on the carpeted floor.

"Moooooooom!"

i went out of the balcony to get some air. i cant stop crying after that nightmare i had.

and everything keeps rewinding like a broken disc in my mind.

the day Mom fell on the floor. how i drove like a madman just to get her to the hospital. how i pleaded the doctor to save her. how she tried to whisper i love you on my ear. how painful it is when she left me. everything just went back like a freaking landslide.

so can you blame me if i cant forgive Dad?

when he inflicted far more worst pain than Edward?

that pain that killed the very reason why i'm striving to live again.
