Amber POV
"His heart is slowing down, we need to get him to the infirmary now!" Nico stated, even in a situation like this he showed no sign of panic, keeping his relaxed state.
"Well what are we waiting for" I asked. Grabbing onto Leo's arm, ready to drag him.
"It will take to long to walk, will have to shadow travel" Nico tells me. I nod solemnly.
I had never shadow traveled before, a small part of me was excited, another scared. Nico's power couldn't be more opposite to mine, what if it's dangerous for me to shadow travel.
Nico's cold hand gripped onto mine, and he pulled me closer to his chest. My heartbeat picked up, I think he noticed because he look down at me and gave me a reassuring smile.
After that, I blacked out.
My eyes opened to reveal nothing, I blinked many times seeing if I truly had opened my eyes. Though as much as I did, I only ever saw an inky blackness.
I placed my hand in front of my face, my eyes strained to make its figure out, only when I saw a small tint of color in the black did I realize that there was nothing wrong with me, the room was just very dark.
I looked around, although I'm not sure why, I couldn't see anything. I crawled onto my hands and knees. My fingers brushed against the damp floor, it sent cold shocks into the tips of them.
My best guess was that the floor was made of wood, my thoughts being confirmed when a sliver went into my hand. I winced in pain.
I heard a snicker of laughter from somewhere behind me, I quickly spun around, standing up. My eyes searched for someone in the blackness but I couldn't even see inches in front of me.
"Master" a voice spoke out, it came from behind me, I spun around again. The voice was hoarse and raspy, it sounded strained. Almost like nails on a chalk board.
"What is it!" Boomed a different voice. This one seemed to come from everywhere at once, echoing off each inch of what I supposed was a room. I spun around in hopes to locate the location of the voices speaker.
"I bring excellent news" spoke the raspy voice, I was still unable to identify its location. It seemed to always be from behind me. "The girl, she has discovered who she is"
"WHAT! Tell me servant, how is this excellent" the booming voice spoke, it didn't seem possible for him to raise his deep voice anymore.
"B-because master, she is scared, she is weak, and lost. She is truly vulnerable, we should attack now!" Spoke the first one, his voice made my ears want to bleed as it seemed to whisper in my ear.
"Mhm, this seems true. Gather our forces, we attack at dawn" snickered the booming voice. There seemed to be something off with his speech. He dragged out his s's.
I suddenly felt a shift in the room. As if eyes were watching me. I squirmed turning around multiple times trying to find the source of my discomfort.
"Do you feel that" asked the booming voice, at first I thought he was talking to me, my heart skipped a beat.
"Feel what, master"
"She is here" it was at that moment I had realized that they knew I was there, I froze in fear at the voice. It laughed, strangely. "Hello my dear"
I heard the voice whisper right in my ear, I felt a presence behind me, I whipped around not able to see anything. I reached for my sword. As it transformed I swung it around me, not coming into contact with anything.
My heart beat fast in my chest, my palms sweaty. I inhaled deeply trying to calm myself down and focus on any shift I felt, trying to locate where this person was.
"I see you made it" they taunted from off to my left, I pointed my sword in that direction. Keeping my hands steady, ready to attack at any time. "So nice of you to join us"
" It be a lot nicer if you didn't hide in the shadows" I spat at them. They laughed, there laugh felt like ice that was pumped into my blood, it was as if it drained me of my will to fight. My sword became heavier in my hand.
"You are a fighter, what they say is true."
"Who's they" I question. Swinging around again to where I had last heard the voice. My sword felt almost a ton heavier, but I gripped it tightly seeing as it is the only thing to protect me.
"Why, the fates. They truly have taken quite an interest in you, your story has been planned out way before your time, or mine" I whip around feeling the presence behind me, I swing my sword but it only slices the air.
" Your tale is different from the rest, truly, it sways with each passing day, the outcome never set in stone. But it marks you, with so much pain, so much suffering, and of course tragic lose." It bitterly laughs, I spin again in circles un able to locate this creature.
"Like that little camp of yours, how awful it will feel, to watch it burn-" this time it was the other voice that spoke, the one like nails on a chalkboard.
"FOOL" bellowed the other. "You can't imagine what you have done" I swung hard at where I thought the voice was coming from, this time I came into contact with somthing.
I felt my sword slice a limb, and I heard a high pitch cry. Then they scampered off, I turned multiple times. Before stopping.
"My camp, you are planning on attacking camp half blood." I state. "You'll never get past the border, I'll stop you"
"The border is no worry of mine, and neither are you, even with the warning we will still destroy you." He roared, his evil laugh once again echoed around me.
