Chapter 4

-Nico's P.O.V-

This girl is a demigod. Her aurora told me so. But she didn't know yet. How can I get her back to camp if I can't shadow travel?

I would never admit it but Amber was right I was to weak to shadow travel for the next few days. I need to iris message camp, tell them my situation.

"Gotta iris message camp" I hadn't realized I said that out loud till Amber asked me.

"What's iris message" ? Her words brang me back to reality.

"It's like calling someone, but with out a phone, you need a rainbow and a drachma. Dang it I spent my last one calling camp yesterday" Amber looked at me for a second then got up out of her chair. She opened a drawer on her dresser and pulled something out.

"D-do they look anything like this" she asked. Plopping three gold dramas into my hand. I was baffled. "I- I collected coins when I was little and I always kept these. They were different they looked like normal money before you came but when you appeared they changed."

Amber kept her eyes locked on the ground. I didn't have to look at her to realize she was telling the truth. But why didn't she see them before I came?

"Yeah these are it. Now I need water and light." where was I going to find that?

" I have fountain in my back yard? It could work"

"That's perfect" I replied. She nodded then walked to the door.

"Follow me. The fountain is in the back yard." she lead me down a hall and three flights of stairs to a back door, but the hole time I stared at her.

"So where is your parent" I asked. She turned her head and looked at me. I saw a pained look in her eyes.

"They went on a cruse won't be back till the end of summer" They? She had both her parents?

"Oh. how old are you"?

"Fourteen. But I'll be fifteen in a few weeks. How old are you?"

"Fifteen. So I guess you get kicked out of schools a lot" she looked a little shocked at my remark.

"No I have been going to the same school for ever, but I just started at high school last September" How strange most demigods got kicked out of schools all the time.

"Do you have dyslexia. or ADHD"

"No" ok strange. Amber opened a door that lead into a tiny back yard. There was a fountain with a gnome spitting water and surrounding it was the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. They had thick red petals and vibrant green stems. Similar to a rose but more beautiful.

It wasn't that big of a yard but almost every flower you could ever imagine was fit into it. They glowed and were perfectly fitted. In one Conner I saw a garden full of herbs. I looked behind us and bellow the window attached to a room, I am guessing the one we came out of, all the flowers were wilted and dead.

"Yeah sometimes I get a little.... upset" she remarked noticing me staring. I couldn't believe this was Ambers garden it looked like it must have been done by Demeter or Persephone them selves.

"So how do you do this iris message thing" asked Amber. She had walked over to the fountain waiting for my instructions.

I pulled one of the coins out of my pocket and threw it into the water.

"Oh iris goddess or rainbows please show me Chiron at camp half blood" the water shimmered and Chiron appeared sitting at his desk talking to Percy and Anabeth.

" That is the second time this week you have stayed the night in the Poseidon cabin" Anabeths a face was bright red and Percy looked really uncomfortable.

"Chiron I swear we didn't do anything." Anabeth said still looking like a tomato.

"That is not the point if I catch you to one more time......" I wasn't really into lessoning to what he was about to say next, so I cleared my throat. Percy jumped, I almost smiled, almost. I plastered my signature scowl on my face.

"Nico, where have you been we where expecting you last night.... wow that's an amazing guardian" Percy exclaimed. I saw Amber blush and bite her lip in the cute way she always did.

"I got pulled off course but I am ok Amber helped me" I saw Amber bite harder on her lip and looked at the ground more intensely. I swore I saw the green tint of the grass around her feet fade a little.

"Wow look at the planning for a place like that must had blue prints and archways and stones and a fountain out a little patio over there" Anabeth started rumbling about plans and gate ways. but Chiron was more interested in me.

" Where are you and when are you getting back and who is Amber" his face was blank and showed no emotion. Although I could barely see him because Annabeth covered half the screen totally blocking Percy .

"Ummmm. I am in Canada, Amber is over there" I pointed to Amber she made a small wave at the screen. "I kinda appeared in her house when I was pulled off course shadow traveling. Drained a lot of my energy I can't come back. So I guess I'll have to wait here for a while because there is no way I could afford a cab."

Chiron thought about this for a while.

"I guess we could send a Pegasus to pick you up but that would take time and someone would have to go with them. Percy go get blackjack ready." I guess Amber saw the discomfort in my eyes because she chose that moment to speak up.

"I-I c-could get N-Nico t-there" she managed with a lot of stuttering and lip butting. I looked at her.

" I can't take air travel or water transportation so it's a nice offer but ..." she cut me off.

"Trust me I don't like traveling those ways either but my transportation is earth only, all earth" she smiled like she had made a funny joke then caught her self and looked at the ground.

"If you trust her Nico but if she is a mortal... " I cut Chiron off.

"Shes not. She is a demigod. And I do." I turned to Amber. "how fast could you get us there." I asked.

"An hour tops" she said. I wasn't quite sure how she could but I truly beloeved her. "if! You let me stay there with you" I was baffled. This was the easiest time I ever tried to get a demigod to camp. Most just looked to stunned to think.

Wait why was she so ok with all this? First the shadow travel then the coins and know the iris message?

"Deal." Anabeth cried from the other side of the screen. " when you get here we are so talking architecture." I saw Percy nodding in agreement they where still baffled by the garden. I looked at Chiron.

"If you trust her" he said before cutting of the connection. I turned to Amber.

"Well. what are you waiting for, go pack"
