Nico di Angelo, Flowers of Death

Chapter 8

-Nico's P.O.V-

"If I was you I wouldn't go flipping people anymore. Or tell anybody you flipped Percy Jackson." I then turned to leave but looked back at her. She was so beautiful. I leaned in and whispered one more thing. "see you at dinner"

Stupid. Why would she want to see you at dinner.

Gods she probably thinks your a freak. I walk off towards my cabin. I need a nap.

"Nico, hey Nico." I could hear Piper calling me but I kept walking trying to avoid socializing. She ran after me.

"hey Nico I was....." She stops abruptly. "Nico? What's wrong." I turned to her startled by her comment.

"Nothing" I bitterly reply hoping she gets the message to leave me alone, but if she did she chose to ignore it.

"Nico being the daughter of Aphrodite I can sense emotions. Usually you put up your shield so I can't read them but you don't have it up" she pauses to think. "Your really happy .. and confused" it took me a second to realize what she meant. Instantly I put my wall up, shielding my self from people trying to read my emotions.

"I am not happy" I growl at her. Whipping around to storm off but she follows close behind.

"Nico di Angelo do you like someone" I could feel the heat in my face and I walked faster. I was just out side my cabin when Piper grabbed my arm and turned me around. I yanked my hand out of her grasp.

"I don't like being touched." I hissed at her. For a second her face was shocked, then a smirk over took it.

" but you where willing to hold hands with the new girl" my face heats up. "but who can blame you. She did flip Percy and almost dislocate his arm."

"Wait! How did you know that" I was baffled Amber had just done that to Percy 10 minutes ago.

"It's all anybody could talk about." she replied. I then heard a loud thwack. Looking over I saw Annabeth standing outside the Hermes cabin looking dumbfounded. She then made eye contact with Piper, she headed in our direction.

" Not a word" I hissed at her. She nodded and made a motion that looked like she was sealing her lips. "Oh and I don't like anyone" i sneered.

But before she could reply Annabeth called out to us.

"Hey guys. What's up?"

"Nothing much just talking about the new girl. How's your boyfriend Annabeth." Piper laughed . Annabeth smiled. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm going now" I grumbled. walking up the steps to my cabin. I opened the door and slammed it shut. I walked over to my bed and flopped face first. I crawled under the covers and took a nice long, dreamless, nap.

I heard a coach horn in the distance signaling for dinner. Groaning as I got out of bed. Why did I tell her I would see her at dinner?

I walked over to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. My dark almond eyes had bags under them and my black hair looked like it had a mind of its own. I sighed.

Leaving my cabin I walked to the dinning pavilion. I looked for Amber, then spotted her between Connor and Travis Stoll. She looked horrified by what they where saying.

I ripped my gaze off her so she wouldn't see me looking, her or Piper for that matter.

After dumping three pomegranates into the fire to the gods I sat down at my table. I broke open the last one on my plate and nibbled at it. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two figure sit across from me at the table. Percy and Jason.

Stupid campers needing more tables. Now the Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera and Persephone children all shared a table. Not that Hera or Persephone actually had any children.

" Are you feeling ok, Nico." asked Jason. I let out an exasperated sigh.

"You don't have a lot to eat" no reply. Shut up Jason I wanted to scream. But I kept my gaze on the table.

" How's your day going ". Asked Percy.

"How's your arm." i snapped at him.

"Fine thanks for asking" he replied. I gave a little snort at his remark and roll my eyes.

"Wait, hold up, back track. What happened to Percy's arm" asked Jason.

"Nico's girlfriend over there" he said pointing at Amber "elbowed me in the stomach and almost dislocated my arm."

"She not my girlfriend" I felt angry that people kept saying that. I squeezed the pomegranate in my hand and it exploded. Jason gave me a look and Percy was trying hard not to laugh.

"Ughhh" was all I said before getting up and leaving the table.

I kept my gaze on the ground but I could fell there eyes watching me was a left.

Why do they have to be so annoying ?

I don't know why I keep over reacting, it's just another new recruit, no big deal.

But of course it is a big deal if you accidentally bump into her and knock all her food to the ground while Percy and Jason watch you make a fool of yourself. That's right, the Fates do have a sense of humor.

"S-sorry" stammered Amber. I bent down and placed the food back on her plate. Then stood up.

"It's ok" I replied. I tried to brush past her but she grabbed my arm. I turned around, over the back of her head I could see Percy making kissy faces at me and Jason telling him to stop.

"Thanks" I was surprised. I honestly had no clue why she is thanking me.

"What for"? I saw a soft smile spread across her lips.

"For not telling anybody my secret" then it hit me. She had done some sort of shadow travel to get me to camp.

"What was I supposed to tell them. They would think I'm insane, I mean I don't even know what that was" she looked up into my eyes. Then quickly looked to make sure no one was in ear shot.

"Conner told me about a singalong camp fire after dinner. After the first song meet me on the beach. Don't be late." and with that she ran back over to Travis who was calling her name.

I just stood there holding her plate full of food and watching her leave, the words replaying in my mind.
