Chapter 31

Nico POV

When I awoke it was to Percy banging on my door. Grumbling I turned over to check the time, 3:23 am.

"Nico up now! Head consoler meeting" he yelled before scurrying away. I rubbed my hands over my face before sitting up. I dragged myself to the blue house, and plopped down in my seat.

Looking around I saw a few other cabin heads. Most groggy and half asleep. Amber and Anabeth stood off to the side in a deep, and heated, conversation.

Why was Amber here? I hope she's okay. Last time I saw her she was lying unconscious in the infirmary. After I had made her shadow travel. I had no idea that she would pass out. Why didn't I pass out when she took me in her plant travel thing?

I watched as Chiron wheeled into the room, directly towards Amber and Anabeth. He joined their heated conversation.

"What's going on here" I heard Piper whisper to Percy.

"I don't know but everyone better quiet down. I have the biggest headache" answered Travis, who was sitting right next to her.

"I know what you mean" mumbled Conner. Both boys had their heads rested on their arms. A pained expression on their faces.

"I bet it has something to do with Amber destroying half the camp" Clarisse stated, rather harshly. I opened my mouth to defend Amber, but Nyssa, who was here in replace of Leo since he is in the infirmary, beat me to it.

"She did not mean to"

"Why are you even defending her, your cabin is going to have to fix everything she broke." Pollux, head consoler of the Dionysus cabin stated.

"She's a friend of Leo's, so she is a friend of me" Nyssa hissed back.

"Yeah, friend" Clarisse remarked, her tone implied she meant something else. I opened my mouth to intrude but was cut off, again. "Everyone knows they spend their nights in the bunker, alone"

I didn't. I knew exactly what Clarisse was implying, but I just couldn't make myself believe it. My fists clenched in anger at the thought. I felt like beating the Styx out of Leo. Why hadn't anybody told me this? [who ships Leo and Amber?? COMMENT IF YOU DO]

My eyes darted to Piper, she seemed to already be looking at me, sorrow in her eyes. She knew, I could tell by the look on her face, and something tells me she had already guessed what they were doing in there.

Then I looked to Percy, he was fiddling with the beads that hung around his neck. Trying to ignore the accusations being made at his friends. Neither dared to try and defend their supposed friends.

Finally I looked at Amber standing across the room. Her long golden brown hair seemed to cascade effortlessly across her back. It was slightly knotted but that made it more alluring.

She had grown a tad bit since she arrived. I noticed how slim she looked from this angle, as if she hadn't eaten for a while. This shocked me, then I recalled all the breakfasts she had been skipping recently.

My eyes darted to her arms where at least 20 beaded bracelets coated them. Why so many? At least Amber had a short sleeve on today, I'd never seen her in one before. She would always complain about the heat, but never give up her long sleeves.

"I'd like everyone to listen up" Chiron's voice echoed across the room, waking me from my thoughts, the little chatter that had been occurring stopped, all eyes were on him.
