I was trapped in my own little fantasy world as I watched Evelyn's house whiz by. A small gasp escaped my lips and I reached for the stop button and pressed it. I had been so far away, I had completely forgotten about the bus stop.

"Dammit!" I muttered and elbowed my way past the tired looking people in the bus. I stopped in front of the door. Someone where standing so close to me I could feel his breath barely touching my sensitive neck. Sending chills down my spine. And the same scent of roses and smoke crept up on me and made my heart pound slightly faster.

The bus stopped and the doors opened giving me the possibility to escape. There were no houses in this area, not a single living soul. Except Lucas. I started walking up the road, my heart bouncing. He was right behind me. His steps getting closer. The silence were capturing me. If I listened closely, I could hear his raspy breath, and those heavy steps.

The urge to run had a hard grasp around me, making me breathe rapidly. Then his footsteps started becoming distant, but I didn't dare to turn around. I just kept walking. And as I hurried around a corner, he was gone.

My heart began to slow down, and I wiped off the sweat from my forehead in relief. There was Evelyn's house. The same old blue house I had been coming to every day since I was 5 years old. The paint was starting to go off, but her parents were debating whether to paint it in a new color, or just put on another layer of blue. So they hadn't got to do anything about it yet. Much like my family, they're slow like that.

As I stepped up on the front porch I gently knocked on the door. Their door bell was out of order for the time being. Suddenly I had a feeling someone were watching me and I peeked over my shoulder. Nothing.

I was about to knock the door again as the anxiety was taking over me, but when my hand was millimeters away from the door, it opened. I felt a wave of comfort overwhelming me when I had Evelyn's warm arms around me.

"What took you so long?" she squeaked, making me draw back by the sound. She could be quite loud.

"I missed the bus stop" I confessed and kicked my shoes off. She smiled teasingly and welcomed me inside.

"Something bothering you?" we had just sat down and turned on the television when Evelyn took notice of my agitation. She always knew when something were wrong, and now was not an exception.

"Did something interesting happen today?" I asked, hoping to avoid the topic.

"You're avoiding my question, something is clearly wrong, now spit it out" she said and jumped a seat closer to me, looking at me with those understanding eyes of hers.

"I met this guy..." I started but was interrupted by Evelyn's whooping.

"I knew it! You met someone already?" she was so close to my face now, practically forcing the information out of me.

"Well, it's not that. There is just this guy, I feel kind of.. Well, attracted to" I didn't know why I felt such pressure. Normally I would have told it to her the second she opened the door to her house. But now, I felt like it was a burden just to talk about it, and that I would be better off keeping it to myself. But how could I not tell her?

"Tell me all about him!" Evelyn literally screamed to my face.

"He's not the kind of guy I would usually go for" I continued, going through every word in my head, making sure they would come out right.

"His name is Lucas, and he lives somewhere around here" I finished, inquisitive of what she might have to say.

"Last name please?" she demanded, still looking cheery, so I assumed it wouldn't hurt to tell her the rest.

"I wish I remembered" I bit my lip, concentrated. I had been so caught up in his looks, everything else just seemed to have slipped away.

"Lucas Crawford? Or Vance! Lucas Vance?".

"How many Lucas'es do you possibly know?" I asked with a laugh.

"In this area. Quite a few" she turned the TV volume down and looked at me with curiosity.

"None of them. I'll remember it when I hear it". Suddenly she got a worried yet forsaken look on her face.

"Oh it's not him is it?" she said and looked away turning the volume on again. I got a strange feeling in my stomach, making me bite my lip in concern.

"Please don't tell me it's Lucas Legrand" she finally said and turned towards me again, her eyes practically begging me to tell her otherwise.

"Well... Maybe" I didn't have the courage to look her in the eyes as I told her. Afraid of being judged. She didn't say anything, she just turned off the television and walked out of the room without a word.
