My feet wandered aimlessly across the school yard. No one followed me. I assumed Dani had rushed off to look for either Drake or Joanna. It seemed to me that they preferred eachother's company compared to mine, as they always talked in hushed voices to each other, leaving me clueless. When ever I asked them what they were speaking about, they either pretended they didn't hear me or they blamed me for supposedly not hearing anything. I felt something hard press against my chest. The feeling of sadness.
All of a sudden, someone tapped on my shoulder. I spun around, backing up a little. It was Drake.
"Something bothering ya?" his laid back attitude irked me, and I found his presence disturbing. His eyes travelled down my body, the discomfort rising inside me.
"Couldn't be better". As I tried to turn and walk away from him, he grabbed my shoulder once again. His eyes fell upon on me with a touch of disappointment, but it wasn't real. "I know what you are" I shot at him, hardly believing my own words.
"You caught me, I'm a bloodsucking vampire" he humorously joked, a daunting grin creeping up on his face.
"A player" I drew myself away from his grasp and jogged back inside the building.
The next few terms were torture. I could literally feel Luke's eyes resting on me, as well as Drake's. I couldn't stand Drake. He was the typical player. With only one objective. Getting in a girl's pants. And he usually got his way too. Luke on the other hand, was different. He had a way of tricking a girl into falling for him. And I was just another girl to step in his spider web. But somehow, I got the feeling he had other purposes than just getting me in bed. There were just something about him, that made me wanna do just what everyone were telling me not to.
The shcool bell rang, making me twitch. A few minutes from now, I would be sitting on the bus together with the people I was trying so hard to avoid.
"Hurry up, we're gonna miss the bus!" Dani frantically threw her stuff in her bag. I honestly hoped we'd miss it. There were nothing else in the world that I wanted more than to just go home. But before I knew it, Dani and Joanna was pushing me towards the bus.
It was half empty. I sat down next to Dani without even giving the guys a chance to get any closer to me. Drake sat beside Joanna, staring at her chest with obviousness. He was a dick.
Luke's scent tickled my senses as he strolled by and dumped down in the seat on the opposite of me. Looking all carefree he lifted his hand to the front of his head, carefully flipping off his snapback, revealing light brown messy tufts of hair. He drew his fingers through his gentle locks before putting his cap back on.
His eyes moved in my direction. Sparkles glistening in his green as they met mine. I was trapped in his gaze, unable to turn away. They kept contact with mine for a moment, not moving further down to my more personal body parts like Drake's usually did.
The noises around me was muffled, and I just stayed in the moment, enchanted by his emerald green orbs. Someone got a hold of my jaw and violently tilted my head the other way.
"I was talking to you!" Dani complained, letting go of my chin. "Pull those plugs out of your ears".
"I wasn't using them" I explained, raising my hand showing her the earplugs.
"Then you're just plain deaf" she said as she turned to the window again, ignoring me. Thinking it would teach me a lesson for not listening to her every word.
