Chapter 24 - This is how we deal with challenges

Mina talks to first Mistress

The next morning when Mina woke she realized she was still on the couch. When she realized that she also realized she had been slipped a spiked drink, "Oreo I'm going to shave your tail damn you." It had to be Oreo since nobody else would do something like that to her. Kevin walked in right as she was stepping out of the shower and had a clean uniform for her.

He was looking better rested as well. He made a slight face at Mina, "If I wasn't scared of Tigger and his pack Oreo would get spanked later. As we had decided I remained in your cabin since this is your world you are dealing with. She sent someone with a meal for me and I woke up on the couch." He had needed the sleep badly but he was still feeling slightly put out. Since they were going to be going all formal he was dressed in sharp dress suit minus the tie. He had already informed Kevin he would never wear a tie again.

Mina hissed slightly as well, "I might ask Tigger to spank her but I have a feeling he might not spank her the way she deserves. I might make it an executive order that she doesn't get any kitty snacks for a month." She felt much better as well.

Right about then they were hailed and when Mina opened the door Ben, his mate, Tigger, his two mates, the Alpha of Darius's pack and his mate, the leader of the unaffiliated were's was there and Kevin's guards. She had to sigh when several of her guards were there as well, "I'm going to need a larger bridge if this goes on much longer. Line up behind my chair and please for the sake of everything let me talk." She frowned at Ben since the XO of the other ship showed up with a cat collar on.

Ben settled for a smile but didn't say anything. His mate did pinch him on the ass though before they all walked onto the bridge.

She had Tigger and his other mates stand next to her chair. Mina had chosen to ignore the various weapons showing. Ben had that damn club thing, one had some massive axe, another something she couldn't describe, and then there were all the ranged weapons. The moment 0700 rolled around she had the communications officer accept the link, "Good Morning First Mistress. I have talked to the various parties involved. As I said last night if we had been allowed safe passage this could have been resolved. As of now Tigger stands by his decision to challenge the Council. Depending on the result of the challenges will dictate what happens from there. He has demanded the challenge be broadcast to the entire world. This is his right and the First Priestess has verified this. My ship will be verifying this. The second the broadcast is blocked or terminated I will be informed."

The First Mistress sat in her chair in her office and wished she could have talked to Mina alone. She hadn't expected it after the debacle from the day before, "Captain *** would it be possible to talk to you alone?" She didn't even bother considering holding her breath.

Tigger spoke, "No! First Mistress as of now the laws of our people have been tossed out the window. Even worse the laws of challenge and the Temples have been tossed out. Many on the Council have shown they aren't worthy to be on the council. Some have shown this by treason, others by refusing to see a better way to save our people. Some few by actively resisting changes which might have saved all this bloodshed and more. As the Master of a house I expect to be heard and my case looked at. I expect the First Priestess to be there when my case is reviewed." Ben had talked to Tigger and the other Alpha. They had decided they were going to call themselves what they were. For this world that was a Master of a house, for Ben and the other it would be Alpha.

The First Mistress lightly flicked an ear when Tigger called himself a Master of a house. It was true he was and he did deserve the title based on what she knew. It was going to go down like a ***. The animal in question had quills, spikes, and stiff jagged fur. The only thing which ate it was even uglier and nastier, "Understood Master of the family. I do have some information which has been brought to light during my investigation last night. They will be broached in the council once you arrive. What portion of your families will you be bringing down?"
