Chapter 14 - Oreo you are mate as much as Tigger and Nang

The day went past pretty quickly and soon it was time for everyone to go outside and Dan and his mates led the way. Mari was standing off to one side with Mina and Steve. Once they were all outside he lifted his chin and looked at the pack and was proud. It was a good and fruitful pack with mates standing holding each other and if they had pups they were with them. Some of the singles who were sort of seeing each other were standing next to each other as well.

"Tonight is a special night not just because we greet out mistress and sing out our love to her but also because of a new mating. Laid out on the tables are traditional foods for a mating. As is expected the mates will step forward and make themselves known to the pack."

Tigger and Oreo stepped forward. "I am Tigger of both the Tailchaser and the pack Cascadia and this is my mate Oreo. We give thanks to this mating and thank the Lady for looking down on our mating." They stepped back and watched Dan and Nang step forward.

"I am the Alpha of Pack Cascadia and this is my mate Nang. We give thanks to our mistress for blessing us with a mate." He looked around the pack and took a deep breath and moved over to Oreo and Tigger and stood behind them and wrapped his arms around them. "I also wish to introduce you to my mates Oreo and Tigger and again thank our mistress for these mates." Again he looked around the pack and smiled. "Our fertility has been proven with Nang having my twin pups and Oreo having my triplets. As our Mistress demands we enrich the pack and we have." Dan had deliberately mentioned Oreo before Tigger so she didn't think she was an afterthought.

There was a low howl of approval from the pack and it quickly became a joyous howl that rang through the clearing. Dan lifted his head and returned the howl. "Now to the feast and celebrate and after than we will great our Mistress with a howl." Nang stepped over and took one of Dan's arms and the four of them walked towards the table.

Dan thought at Tigger. *Would you mind if I ate with Oreo and you can eat with Nang? I think she is sort of feeling like a third wheel. I need to show her that she means as much to me as you and Nang does. I told both of you I will not break up your mating and I mean that. She needs to know that.*

Tigger looked over at him and nodded. He turned and murmured something to Oreo and urged her over to Dan and took Nang's arm as they headed for the tables. The tables were so heavy with food they were almost groaning. Oreo looked up at Dan and had a questioning look on her face. She didn't say anything but it was obvious she was curious as to why they had traded off.

Dan smiled down at her and wrapped an arm around her but didn't say anything yet. When they reached the table he started drooling. "Oh god they over did themselves with this." He picked up a large plate and deliberately took things he knew that Oreo loved as well as things he enjoyed. There were steaks, several different types of chicken, ribs, fish, and more. Once he and Oreo had their food he moved away and found a spot for them to settle down.

One of the pack came over and offered them several types of drinks and Dan took a beer and Oreo a glass of wine. She looked at him again and finally asked. "So why are we trading couples? I had been expecting to be sitting with Tigger." There was a very faint trace of unhappiness in her voice.

He leaned over and cupped her cheek with one hand before gently kissing her. *I wanted to spend time with you Oreo and I wanted to talk to you.* When he leaned back his eyes were warm with love and caring. *You are my mate as much as Tigger and Nang are. I love you so very much and you mean as much to me as my other mates do.*

Her eyes widened and the slight tension around them relaxed. Tears were showing as he leaned down and kissed her. His words left her speechless and tears did start flowing. Not to many but enough to show how she was hit by his thoughts. She leaned into him and tucked her head against his chest for a few moments. *Thank you Dan.*
