Epilogue - What are they doing?

First Mistress talks to Mina

Mina received the message from Ddewrder and groaned since Dan wasn't available. She quickly touched base with Oreo and was updated on his status. Once she had the update she called the First Mistress back, "Ddewrder Dan isn't available at the moment. He is back in medical and it is related Tigger shooting him. Oreo has hopes that he will regain some of what he lost. Until he wakes there isn't much I can do. Is there anything else we can do for you?"

Ddewrder sighed when Mina contacted her, "I'm sorry to hear that Captain. I have issued several proclamations to the council. First, Earth is off limits unless someone wishes to come to our planet. It won't be long term if they do. Next, our Deities have spoken, earth is off limits and as Diamond ordered we will not take anyone from there. Your ship is going to be stationed there as our emissary to earth and your mate as the Ambassador to earth. We will not block the Neko's from their families here or the families here from those on earth."

She was looking tired yet also pleased, "Cryfder talked to me and you can thank him for this. He talked to me and pled your case with this issue. He asked me not to block either set of families from the others. He is the one who noticed how alive your families were even with what happened. I do have one request; can you suggest someone who might consider remaining behind as a liaison. I'm not talking you or Kevin but someone else. One with a wolf as a mate. Think about it and get back to with me please."

"One last thing, you are going to be assigned to Earth as the officer on station. You and Kevin are going to be our contacts for Earth. Tigger is the wrong person as are most of the others. I'm going to have orders cut defining this and what your job description is going to be. If you have questions, contact me." She disconnected and leaned back in her chair.

Mina listened to what the First Mistress had to say and finally passed the request to Tigger to think about. It would be someone he would be in charge of even if it was simply because he had been placed in charge. For this he was going to need to decide. Being put in charge of the communications with Earth had startled her but hadn't surprised her. She had pretty much expected it to happen. It wasn't what she really wanted but she would survive.

Request for someone to remain behind

Tigger received the message from Mina and after contemplating it he started smiling, *Paul, Diamond, I need to talk to you. Come to my office when you can but don't delay please.* They were the perfect couple to ask to remain behind. Diamond had been a Mistress and then a First Mistress and now being mated to Paul she wouldn't take any shit.

When they finally arrived at the cell he had taken over as an office he waved them to some seats, "I'm going to be blunt, the First Mistress requested a wolf and his mate remain here as a contact with Earth. I would like the two of you to consider this. I want a Neko who was high up as well as a moderately dominant wolf. This isn't going to be an order but a request. Would you consider remaining here for some time? I will see about setting up a rotation of people to replace you. Not all will be human and neko matings, but people who will support our worlds."

Diamond looked at Paul and lightly bit her lips, "I will talk with my mate and we will get back with you. If you will please excuse us so we can talk." They needed to consider it before saying yes or no. Paul wouldn't want to leave the pack for any length of time but this was very important.

Tigger nodded at them and went back to what he had been working on. He would get an answer before he left so he wasn't worried about that. What he was concerned about was Dan and how he was recovering.
