Second meeting with the prez
Dan growled at her, "Hey, my cook makes a mean chicken Kiev and is serving it tonight. Hopefully they leave some leftovers for me." Nang had to snicker at him and his grumbling.
Helen stood up and walked over to Nang and lightly touched the necklace, "That is very beautiful. Dan gave it to you?" She had seen it once in his room but he had never said anything about it.
Nang looked up at him and smiled, "He did and it was the necklace he gave to his previous mate." She looked over at him and sighed when his face tensed up.
"She died after the civil war, over a hundred and twenty years ago. I gave it to her when we became mates." He was looking down at Nang and it was rather obvious that he cared a great deal for her, "She was killed by a rogue pack member." His face hardened as he spoke, "I returned the favor and killed the man and his father so he would never do that again." He had to close his eyes and let out a slow breath, "Sensitive subject and sorry."
Kevin tensed a bit when Dan clearly said that he had killed the rogue. He didn't ask how many over the years. He had a feeling the answer would bother him, "Don't blame you Dan. I might have done the same thing." He looked at Mina and then nodded, "Fuck that man; I would have done the same if I needed to."
John shook his head, "If you need amnesty talk to me when you come out and I will take care of it. I could never blame a man who killed those who killed his wife." He tried to make that sound lightish.
Dan sighed, "Might do that just because but it was never reported so there weren't any legal issues. Besides you might get odd looks amnesty to someone from just after the Civil war. I'm going to say I'm not going to appear on any TV series until I get approval from my senior. I have been around for a great deal of time. There are going to be friends, family, and enemies who might recognize me. I won't do it."
John looked down at the table and then at Helen and nodded slightly, "Okay Dan I can understand that but when you get approval to come out I expect you to be on the front page. I need someone who is a standup person and if Helen could love you then that says something positive." They had talked last night and she had told him how much Dan had meant before he had disappeared after a 'family' emergency.
Dan gave him an even look and then sighed. If he wanted freedom for lycan's he would have to agree, "I can accept that but it might take a bit of time. There are several pack counsels that control the different regions. The one I report to deals with Canada and North America. We don't dictate what the others do but what we do is going to impact on the others." Goddess he hated politics.
John nodded and sighed, "Politics is such a pain in the ass. Why can't we all just get along?" It was a rather plaintive comment and when both Dan and Kevin snickered he grinned.
"Oh god, that was so wrong yet so right and I might just have to watch that movie tonight." Dan couldn't help but grin as he held Nang's chair out and helped her into it before sitting down.
She looked at him and then hissed, "I don't want to know since your sense of humor is so bad. If it is a movie you liked I'm sure I will hate it." Just for good measure she hissed at him and got a muffled laugh from Helen.
"Nang you have no clue. That was the one thing that kept me from proposing to him. John isn't nearly as bad..." She leaned into her husband and smiled.
Dan returned the smile, "I'm so happy for you Helen. I knew you wouldn't be happy with my life which is part of the reason I vanished. Not all humans make good wolves. You had other plans and I'm so pleased that you found the man you could live your life with. Both of you had some very lovely children." They were grown and doing their own things by now. He looked down at Nang, "I know that we will as well." Her hand was curled around his arm.

This has nothing to do with either Silver Moon or WOR. It is somet...
