Chapter 3 - Yo Helen, long time no see...

Meeting with other mates

She moved over to a cabinet on the wall, "Do you want something to eat? I'm somewhat hungry since breakfast was a while ago and then we should go." She dialed something up for her and when Dan indicated he was hungry quite a bit more for him.

"Go sit down, I will bring it over to you and then we can eat." They had gotten there later than the captain had since the captain had to be there first. Once the food had been delivered she carried it over to the table, "Here you go and I hope you like it."

Dan looked down at what looked somewhat like a noodle dish which was heavy on the meat. He leaned over and carefully sniffed it to see if his wolf could pick up anything that might not agree with him before eating. The first bite was darn good and the white sauce had just the right hint of spices in it. The meat was a bit of an odd flavor but interesting, "Hmm... Tastes like chicken..." He continued eating until he was done, "Not bad though Mari's is much better but thank you."

Nang snickered at the chicken comment, "Doesn't everything? You are right; I already miss her cooking and can't wait to get back to it." Once they were done she put the dishes back in the cabinet and closed it up, "We need to go."

Dan followed her out of the room and up several decks and into a conference room and there appeared to be eight or so couples in there. They ranged from Hispanic, Asian, Russian, Chinese and a number of Caucasians. Dan followed her to a chair and eyeballed it, "Think it will hold me?" All of the women he had seen were at most 5'6" tall and maybe 140 or so. He weighted over 300lbs due to what he was and that made him a bit nervous.

"Hey old man, jolly have a seat, the chairs are comfortable." That was definitely a British accent and when Dan looked at him he looked like a very stereotypical Brit.

"I weight more than I look and really don't have the urge to land on my keister." He muttered as he slowly settled down in the chair and listened to it groan, "If this breaks I'm going to blame you friend." Dan growled at the Brit. Once he was down he carefully leaned back a bit and sighted. "Now a cigar and tumbler of rum and the world would be a better place."

That got a laugh from the Brit, "I would have said a fag and pint of the bitters but that works as well. So what was your reaction to finding a cat woman in your house?" He looked back at Jasmine and smiled.

Dan snickered, "Well actually I pulled my pistol on her and wondered what my buddies had slipped in my drink." He looked at Nang and she pretended to give him a scowl and lightly bopped the back of his head.

"Yes, and that wasn't very nice of you since I had cooked dinner for you. Meanie." After she bopped him she leaned over and gave him a good kiss, "I'm glad we got that worked out, now the other issue... We will see."

Shortly thereafter the last couple walked in and the woman introduced herself as the captain and Dan nodded and gave her a careful look, or well his wolf did since it was a habit to evaluate other Alphas and decide how dominant they were. When she took the women with her Dan almost felt abandoned but knew that wasn't really the case. At this moment, he really missed having a mating bond with her.

When the Officer called the meeting to order and asked them their opinions when it got around to him he shrugged, "We are still discussing it as well as actually becoming mates. There are some family issues which have to be resolved before we can actually go that far. Right now, it is a case of if we do go the old fashion way it is going to be a very select few and for the rest they will have to go to the local yerk and jerk center."

He got a few odd looks when he said that but the discussion continued around the table until everyone had their say. One of the men casually asked what type of family issues and Dan ran his hand through his hair, "I'm the head of household for a large pack, clan and because of that there are some extra", he waived a hand around, "details that are required such as bringing my prospective mate in, special ceremony at a certain time of the month and at a certain time. Things like that. Since I just met her I have to follow the steps and she has to agree and all that good stuff. If I just took her as my mate it would raise bloody hell and would take forever to resolve and I would probably have to beat the hell out of a number of people as well."
