(A/n Oh my gossssshhhh. I love each and everyone of you! I now realized that I have wrote more chapters in My Fred and George. Oops!)
I stare at my students. This is my third class, my seventh years. Most of my friends are in here. I feel a bubble of nervousness in the pit of my stomach beginning to fade away. I clasp my hands together.
"Alright, we are going to learn how to produce the Patronus charm." A mummer went around the room. "Now, who can tell me when it's most appropiate to use this charm?"
Hermione's hand shot up in the air. I stiffled a giggle. She's always been like this, the first one to want to answer everything. I nod my head to her. "It's most appropiate when you are around Dementors. The Patronus takes place of a certain animal. It's different to everyone. For example, mine is an otter. They are very hard to produce." Said Hermione matter of factly.
I smile at her and nod my head. "Correct. Thank you, Hermione. Ten points to Gryfindor." One thing I like being a teacher here, I can give my House and the other Houses points. Especially my former House. Hermione grinned to herself proudly.
-------------------------
"Think of the happiest thing you can think of, and then say Expecto Patronum. You have to stay focused on the memory or it won't work." I had moved the class to the Room Of Requirement so we could have more room to work.
I watched the feeble atempts of my students trying to produce the spell. It was adorable watching their faces screw up in concentration, others their eyes completely closed, trying to think of their happiest memory. I watched Hermione and Luna produce a full body Patronus. I smiled to myself, very proud of my friends.
"I did it! I did it!" I heard someone yell. I turned around and saw a black haired boy from Ravenclaw, his face glowing with pride. His name was John. Beside him, was a turtle. It was humongus. Must be one of those big turtles that I used to love seeing when I went to the zoo. I walked over to him and patted him on the back.
"Well done, John! Twenty points for Ravenclaw." The said House cheered and clapped John on the back. "And twenty points for Gryfindor." I nodded towards Hermione and her otter Patronus. She smiled at me and I returned the smile. Just then a loud bell erupted around the room."Alright, have a good day you guys! Homework for tonight is practice your Patronus." I called after everyone as they left the room.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. Today was an eventful day. Now, I just have to teach four more classes how to produce a Patronus.
----------------------
"Good job, guys! Practice makes perfect so keep on practicing for homework." I call after my last class, which is my second years. They all filed out of the room to go to dinner.
I slipped my wand in the back pocket of my skinny jeans. I ran a hand over my Weird Sisters shirt, trying to get the fuzz off of it. I then picked up my bag from the corner of the room and then walked out of the Room of Requirement, closing the door behind me. I walked down the stairs to the Great Hall. I heard people laughing and talking. I walked through the open doors, hurrying up the middle aisle to the teachers table. I took my regular seat next to Neville. I smiled apoligetically at him.
"I'm sorry about George the other night." I said.
Neville smiled at me. "Well good evening to you too."
I let out a short laugh. "Sorry."
Neville shook his head, frowning at me. "Lexi, it's fine. I swear."
I grin up at my friend. "Okay."
"Okay."
I heard a light pop and I look down. Food and drinks sat before me. I dug into my food. teaching seven classes how to produce a Patronus charm sure does wear you out.
After dinner I headed to my room. Neville had to give a child detention right after dinner so he didn't walk me to my room tonight. Once in my room, I walk over to my small table. I had been trying to right to Angelina, but I had been so busy over the weekend.
I get out my quill, parchment, and ink and start writing:
Dear Angelina,
I'm mad at you. But that doesn't mean that I don't want to still be best friends. I miss you...I forgive you, Angie. I understand that you and George were drunk and didn't know what was happening. I love you, Angelina. You're my best friend and nothing can change that. I wanted you to know that I got a job at Hogwarts! I'm the DADA professor. And Neville Longbottom is the new Herbology professor so I'm not alone. Hermione, Ginny, and Luna are here too. It's kinda weird that I'm teaching my friends. Please write back soon. I love you!
Love your best friend,
Lexi
I then practically run up to the Owlery. I attach the letter to my owl and watch it fly off. I felt the heaviness in my chest go away. I just wanted my friend back. I then walk all the way back to my room. I saw Neville turning his door handle.
"Neville!" I call. I hop down the stairs two at a time and hug him. "Oh, Neville. You're such a good friend!" I then let him go. A look of shock on his face.
"Um...thanks. You are too. Look, I'm really tired so I'm going to bed early. See you in the morning!" He waved at me as he went in his room. I sighed and went in my room as well. I quickly dress for bed and hop into bed, turning the lights off before I get in. I then fall into a deep sleep.
