~Alana's pov~
Living with Dan and Phil was awesome and usually fun, but I never really got used to Phil dragging his laptop everywhere for live shows or Dan filming little skits as Jessica or talking to himself to edit in another clip later. I did get used to Phil's excellence at cooking, and Dan lying on the floor every once in awhile. I usually did these activities with them, jumping around the kitchen singing Disney songs with Papa as backup then lying down next to Dad if I needed to ask him if he wanted carrots or broccoli or both in the stir fry.

On the Friday that Linkas came over, both Chris and Pj were over to film a fantastic foursome video (A/N: I know this never happens anymore but a girl can dream right?). When I unlocked the door, Dan called from the living room, "Lana? Is that you? We're in here!" "Take your shoes off and follow me." Even though Linkas was in my house, I still wasn't quite comfortable treating him as a guest. "Erm, do you mind if I keep them on?" I shook my head, "Does it really matter? Just take them off!" Unwillingly, he took them off and we headed into the lounge to find an explosion of, well I'm not sure exactly what was happening. Despite the fact that all of them were casually sat on the sofa, there were streamers and balloons and I'm pretty sure it was Pj who turned the room into a cardboard spaceship. "Hey" I plopped down between Chris and Phil, leaving Linkas in the doorway, more than than a little confused. "Alana, aren't you going to introduce us to your boyfriend?" Chris teased. "He's not my boyfriend, we had to do a project in class and we weren't allowed to pick our partners, I'm sort of stuck with him. By the way, Linkas, you can come in, it's not going to explode." "Actually it might, I'm pretty sure Peej put some party poppers where you might step on them!" Dan got up and went to the kitchen ("Who wants a drink?") and I took the liberty of introducing everyone. "So Linkas, this is Pj, Chris, my dad, Phil, and that was Dan, my other dad. Guys, this is Linkas." "It's actually Lucas." He corrected me. Phil went over to Linkas, "Nice socks!" I hadn't noticed, but Phil was wearing the same socks (or I guess sock because Phil doesn't ever wear matching socks) as Linkas. I realized that Phil and Linkas had some uncanny similarities, black floppy hair, and the socks mostly. Nevertheless, their differences were much more prominent. While I loved Phil and his bright colors and happy silly punny personality, Linkas was cold and dark. He wore all black most of the time, and his hair was longer and messy, while Phil's fringe was iconically shorter and neater. I shook off the thoughts, Papa was nothing like Linkas. Right? Pj spoke then, interrupting my thoughts anyway; "So who's up for a dance party?" "Peej, do you honestly think this is a good time? My daughter has a classmate over for homework." Dan walked back through the door and I tugged on the sleeve of his shirt . "Pleaseeeee! It'll only take like a second!" "Fine, just don't make me drop these!" He set the drinks down on the table and I pulled up my 'Dance Partay 👯' playlist. That lasted until I noticed that Linkas had left the room and I snuck out behind Dad and pressed the record button on the camera. Even if they did edit this out, it would still be hilarious.

I found Linkas in the hallway, on his phone. "So we should probably get started right?" He nodded and I turned toward the stairs to my room. I guess I never realized it wasn't normal to have a dance party with your parents, I'd gotten used to them at the orphanage and even with my mum and dad dancing around was common practice. I sat down on my bed and gestured for him to sit at the desk. He looked so out of place in my room with its fairy lights and Adventure Time poster, not to mention all my art lining the walls. I couldn't help but laugh at his awkwardness. "What are you laughing about?" "Never mind," I waved it away, "If you open the computer there should be a tab open and also a document open? Yeah that one. So I was thinking we could just write down some general ideas and stuff?" We switched into work mode, he was surprisingly easy to work with, which was good because group projects were my mortal enemy. Dan knocked on the door after an hour or so. "Snacks?" he asked, opening the door. "Yes snacks! Snacks always! Snacks!" I pushed past Dan and ran down the stairs. "What's this I hear about snacks?! Dad said snacks!"

"Oh my god snacks! I love snacks! Snacks will you marry me?!"

"Shut up Chris!" I shoved my elbow in his side and Phil handed me a slice of generously buttered toast. "Thanks!" I ran back up the stairs, and, not looking where I was going, bumped into Linkas who was on his way down. Did I mention I also practically threw a piece of toast in his face? Well, I did. He caught the piece of toast as it fell from his face and handed it back to me. You could have cut the awkwardness in the air with a knife. We just sort of stood there for a bit, me holding a piece of toast, him with his hands in his pockets and butter on his face. After what felt like forever, I finally said, "Oh, right. The bathroom is this way, come." We passed Pj on the way back and I handed him my toast. He looked a little confused at first, then shrugged and took a bite, heading back towards the lounge. I took a small washcloth out of the cupboard and wet it under the tap. "Here, give me your face. Uh, I mean, here you go." I handed Linkas the towel and stepped outside the door. My phone buzzed in my back pocket, and I found a text from Nellie.

N: Hellllooooo

A: Heyheyhey

She texted back immediately;

N: We need to get together againnnnnn

A: ikr but im busy today. tomorrow? like starbucks or sumthin

N: i have to check with my mum hold on

A: ok

"Hey Papa? Can I go to Starbucks with Nellie tomorrow?" Dan answered, "I don't think he heard you, but yeah, you can!" "Thanks!" I texted her back;

A: D says i can go!

Linkas walked back into the hallway then. "Er, sorry about the toast."

"It's fine."

"Are you sure? Because, I mean, I would personally despise the person who threw a piece of toast in my face, not to mention it was well buttered, because Phil is good at buttering toast, I realize how weird that sounds, but it was still really buttery and it got all over your face and I hope nothing got in your eyes because your eyes are really pretty and it would be bad if they got like a crumb or something in one them and we would have to go to A&E also I just realized that Pj ate that toast after your face was on it which is kinda gross, not that you're face is gross, I just mean that I probably should have told him-" He cut me off. Not with his voice, with his mouth. I mean, he kissed me. I definitely wasn't expecting that, and I just sort of pushed him off me and stood there. "Maybe you can go now?"

"Yeah, sorry, I just thought, you know..." He fiddled with his jacket sleeves, then walked past me and then towards the door. I just walked back upstairs to text Nellie.

A/N: Hey look an extra long chapter! You're welcome. Also wow twist? I'm not even sure if this counts. The reason the chapter is long is because it's crap and I wrote it when I was tired. Okay idek baiiii.
