"Thanks Kiri," I smiled as she gathered her stuff to leave the studio. She was my imstructor, as well as my best friend. She nodded in return before stepping out of the studio. I pushed myself into the splits, stretching my legs, before restarting the song on the Macbook that lay battered on the floor. The distorted words started, and I leapt onto the studio floor the way Kiri had just been teaching me.

I poured my heart and soul into the moves, pirouetting and jumping and rolling until my chest felt tight, then the chorus came.

"Oh the sun, will rise, like a flame ignites," Luke sang through the speakers, and I threw myself into the dance, trying desperately to get it perfect. This was my audition piece for the next university showcase, and I hoped to open or close the show. As Ashton sang "tomorrow never dies" I flung my arms into opposition and flipped, landing crouched gracefully. The song faded out as my audition piece didn't have to be too long, and I panted until I heard clapping behind me. I leapt to my feet and whipped round to see a boy with red hair leaning in the door frame smiling widely.

"Oh, no, don't turn round," he said. "The view from back here was perfect." He winked, and I gasped.

"You're Michael Clifford," I realised. Then: "you were looking at my ass!"

"Maybe baby," he winked again. "Um, that was great and all, and your ass is-" he gestured with his hands - "wow, but I'm not supposed to be in here. Which you probably knew, but anyway where's music room 6?"
