Chapter 6- Ignite the Light
I pulled up Ashlyn's in 45 not 30 like I told her.
"I'm sorry girl"
"Stop apologizing for everything. You were 15 minutes late. Girl do you apologize for being born when you mom is mad at you.? Sometimes I feel like you would apologize for being black. Hell I'm just happy to ride."
I laughed "We'll that's just what your ass need to do shut up and ride"
I hooked my phone up to the Bluetooth, and played La La by the Cab I couldn't get it out of my head. We jammed as we rode.
About 45 minutes and X amount of songs later we pulled up to Chips. This really good place all teens hang out from our school. We did a check over and I gotta say "my bitch bad looking like a bag of money." Ashlyn's got on a crop top shirt with a pink peace sign with some pink booty shorts. Her jewelry matched her to the T. She damn sure was wearing that outfit not letting it wear her. I didn't look to bad myself I was wearing a green high low shirt with a pair of jean shorts. Together we are some bad bitches. Lol.
We walked into Chips and the vibe was pretty live for it to be a Monday evening. Chips is a bowling alley/arcade and a skate park in the back. Me and Ashlyn slid in a booth as she texted Sydney Daneisha and Stephanie to meet us there. We knew Stepie didn't live to far so she should be here in5. We went on to talking about everything under the sun. From Mr. Richardsons ass to her mom twerking on the couch the other day. Lol. We were super turnt up and when the whole crew got there we turnt up even more. After eating almost 4 things of cheese fries we ll decided we want to play a couple rounds of bowling. We went on to bowling with Sydney's ass in the lead. I wasn't really trying I was throwing it all kinds of ways...I just think its more fun that way. Then out of no where "Dont Drop That Thun Thun" came on through the speakers. The whole place lit up. We were standing on couches twerking our little asses off. Well mines is the biggest in the clique but we still were going at it. I was straight jamming until I felt a big pair of hands snatch me down and hold me so tight it was hurting. I looked up to see Sam was the one causing this pain.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing up there?"
"What the hell Sam I'm dancing let me go, you're hurting me"
"The hell you were. my girlfriend will not be know as the hoe of Chips shakin your ass like you ain't got no home training."
The hell? I thought plenty of times he saw me dancing what the hell is wrong with him.
"Sam I said let go of me I'm not your child do don't handle me like one"
"We'll you're acting like a child lets go" he snatched me towards the door.
"No" I yelled surprised at my own tone. "No I'm not going to do what you want me to anymore. This is my life not yours to run."
He tightened his grip and said
"Dominique lets go"
"She doesn't want to go with you Sam let her go" Ashlyn said I knew if anything she would have said something.
"Ashlyn stay your noisy ass out of this"
Oh hell no. Now all my girls were turnt up. Yelling all kinds of things at him. I just wanted to break from his grasp and get out of here.
"You know what all y'all asses need to stay out of this this is between me and her. That's why y'all all single now y'all to worried about everybody else relationship but y'all own."
"Don't talk to them like that" I interjected. " who the hell do you think you are. You may be black but you damn sure ain't Barack Obama."
I try to get out of his grasp but he squeezes even tighter.
"That's it you're going home now" he said between tight lips.
Just then a familiar voice said
"She isn't going anywhere I think she made that pretty clear."
I closed my eyes and squeezed my lids together hoping that when I opened the, that I would wake up and that this was all a dream but no. I was still here the pain was still here and he was still here. I looked up and saw Jarviss standing in front of me and Sam.
"Stay out of this man it ain't got shit to do with you"
"You know my mom always taught me how to treat a lady and also how to deal with a punk niggah like your ass. So I'm gonna ask...no I gonna tell you one more time to let her go"
He swung me behind him with so much force I should have fallen.
"Or what" he threatened
"We'll Ill show you better then I can tell you."
Everything went down from there. Jarviss reached out and punched Sam right in the nose. Sam went to swing but he missed. Jarviss lifted him up and began to continuously hit him in the face.
"Stop! Stop! Stop!" I yelled I grabbed Jarviss arm and he turned towards me with blood shot eyes.
"What!"
"Stop! You're hurting him."
"You're really worried about him, if I recall he wasn't to worried about you when he was putting his hands on you"
"He just not worth it" I said trying to convince myself more them him.
"Unbelievable I swear"
Just then we heard. "Jarvis Brown you're under arrest for assault and violation of probation."
"The fuck man!" He yelled.
At this point the music had subsided and everyone was staring trying to figure out what had happened. Sam just got up and stormed out of the building. Jarviss was being taken out by the police.
My friends were all around me seeing if I was ok and if I needed anything but I didn't even answer I just rushed grabbed my keys and ran out to my car. They were right on my heels we all filed in. Just before I stuck my key in the ignition Daneisha grabbed my hand and said,
"Jarviss was just protecting you Sam should have never touched you the way he did, or said some of the things he said. But he is your man and I understand that, but Jarviss shouldn't be the one in that cell. And you know that. Now it's time for you to make the decision. You can go down to the police station and tell them what happened or you can go and get Sam to explain what the hell was his problem."
She was right I had one choice and I had to make it now. I crunk up my car and drove off.
