Chapter 2: A Woman's Worth

Buzz buzz buzz. I woke up to the sound of my alarm buzzing directly in my ear. Yay school *sacasm*. Mondays are definitely the worst. I drag my feet out of the bed and headed to the shower. I took about 15 minuted in the shower, and then did the whole nine yards. Brushed my teeth, lotion, washed my face. All that good stuff. Then I headed to my closet to find out what to wear. I chose I simple fit today. My yellow aero shirt with blue writing. And a blue pair of skinny jeans that hugged my curves just right. I kept my jewelry simple and my make up was just that also. Now my hair was a different story. I have a lions mane on my head seriously. It's wild, crazy, and curly. I liked it though. My friends always say I need to do more with it but I typically just leave it in its natural state and let it do what it do. I checked myself over in the mirror. My smooth milk chocolate skin was really brought out by my yellow shirt. I looked decent. I wasn't really trying to impress anybody. I went down stairs to join my family at breakfast. My mom was a single mom my dad and her split after 10 years and 5 kids. ( 1 boy 4 girls). Then she met my sister Deremys father and he died he got shot by a stray bullet in his hometown in Haiti. Then she met my sister Delaney father and they split when she found out he was still married. As you see she doesn't have much luck with men. Which is part of the reason why I don't like really getting involved into too many relationships. My sister Delaney ran towards me.

"Hey chocolate"

"Hey cookie" I reply.

"Are you taking me to school today. I don't want mommy to she plays that old people station"

"Yeah ill take you but that means we have to leave right now are you ready?"

"Yep"

"Ok and we have to pick up Ashlyn so get your butt in the car."

She ran outside to my Toyota Camry and she climbed into her cars eat and buckled up. Without her even asking I popped in her Disney cd and we started screaming "when will my life begin" from the movie enchanted.

Before I knew it I was pulling up to my best friend Ashlyn house, and she was standing outside ready to go. She hopped in my car and joined the jam fest.

"Oh hell yeah this my song" she screamed "A Whole New World" she belted.

"Oh hell no" I turned the radio down " not singing like that"

She laughed "hey cookie" she said

"Hey girl" she replied

I turned up the radio and we continued to Delaneys school.

We pulled up I went and signed her in kinda relieved that me and Ashlyn can talk now.

"So girl," she said " spill I saw the Facebook status that you and Sam went out on a date, how was it"

"It was good," I replied " after being together for 8 months the dates all become the sign, it's not really a big deal anymore"

"Girl, that man ain't doing his job you supposed to feel like the only girl in the world when you're around him. He supposed to give you butterflies and tingles all over. You remember what marina told us."

I laughed as she was referring to her older cousin.

"Hes supposed to be the vajayjay whisperer." We said simultaneously busting out laughing.

"But seriously girl, a real man knows his woman inside and out. I know you think he is pretty much perfect and all but I'm just saying.

"He's a good man" is all I could say because I in fact didn't think he was perfect but my mom really liked him and I wanted her to know I got it right unlike my older brother and sisters.

"Alright he a good man but does he treat you like a good woman"

I didn't answer I just turned up the radio. This is definitely gonna be a long ride.
