Chapter 24

End of part 2~

"Hey, Papy why don't we go out to celebrate?" Mettaton brought up later that afternoon. He was still beaming from earlier.

Papyrus flipped his pancakes. "What do you have in mind, love?"

Mettaton grinned. "Well dear, what about music in the park?"

Papyrus spatula-ed a few chocolate chip pancakes onto a plate and slid the plate to Mettaton. "And what ever is that sweetie?"

"Oh darling, it's where people get together and share music, in the park, eat cookies and enjoy the sunshine."

"Well boo-bear-"

"Boo-bear? Really?" Mettaton covered his mouth to stifle a laugh. "You could've said angel, or beloved one!"

Papyrus gave him a silly smile. "Ok, beloved one, it sounds wonderful. What time?" He leaned across the counter and kissed Mettatons cheek.

Mettaton took a bite of pancake. "It's tonight at 6, in Ebott Park. Syrup please."

A little disappointed that he'd dropped their game, Papyrus passed him the syrup. "Sounds fun, what song are we gonna share?"

Mettaton paused, then told him.

Papyrus smiled. "It'll be a little hard acapella, but sure!"

Later, they were heading out when they ran into Undyne and Alphys. "H-Hi!" Alphys waved. She looked very pretty in a floral dress and her hair extra curly.

Undyne was dressed simply, in a leather coat, turtleneck and boots. She was wearing a little bit of makeup and looked excellent. "You guys going to Music in the park too?" She looked at Mettatons treble clef print shirt.

He was about to sarcastically answer when Papyrus cut in. "Yep! What song are you guys sharing?"

Alphys grinned. "Ichiban no takaramono!"

Mettaton laughed and Undyne patted her back. "Really? How sweet!"

Papyrus looked confused. "Nice..?"

"It's a Japanese love song, boo-bear."

Papyrus whacked him playfully. "Will you leave me alone about that!" But he smiled gently.

"Well let's ditch this joint!" Undyne scooped Alphys up and raced out of the apartment building, while she squealed.

When they got to the park, they found it was in fact 95% couples. Everyone was lying on blankets and feeding each other chocolate covered strawberries and kissing.

Undyne wrinkled her nose at them. "C'mon Al, I brought Pocky." She placed her down in the grass near the stage. Papyrus and Mettaton sat down near them on a star covered blanket.

Mettaton scooched near him. "So, where are the strawberries?" He teased.

Papyrus blinked. "Oh wowie, was I supposed to bring them, I'm sorry!"

Mettaton laughed and layed down on the blanket. "No dear, I'm just joking."

Papyrus layed down beside him, nuzzling his cheek. Mettaton turned his head to look at him, their eyes met and everything around them seemed to disappear, it was only Mettaton and Papyrus, who was leaning closer and closer and....

"Did you bring bug spray?" He whispered. "Mosquitos stink."

Mettaton laughed a lot louder than he meant to. "Yeah, Undyne has it-" his voice trailed off when he saw her and Alphys deep in a game of pocky. "Nevermind then."
