Papyrus and Mettaton made it back to the apartment, both quiet. They sat down on the couch, Papyrus still looked in shock. Mettaton fixed them some coffee and sat down beside him.

"Papy?" He asked quietly, gently rubbing his back. "Are you alright?"

Papyrus just shook his head. "S-Sans...He..."

Mettaton went into full affection mode. "I know dear, I know.....he'll be okay, we will find a way." He swept Papyrus's curly hair out of his eyes soothingly.

He turned his head to look at him, his green eyes meeting Mettatons brown. "Are you really certain of that?"

He paused. "No but..."

"Mettaton!" He said suddenly. "I have an idea, you can use the money you got from your aunt to pay for his chemotherapy!!" His face immediately lit up with glee at his idea.

Mettaton was at a loss for words. "Papyrus I-"

"You didn't use it all up already did you?"

"Well no...I made a down payment, but..." Mettaton looked away.

"Then you can do it? You can save Sans! You can do it-"

Mettaton cleared his throat. "Well, see..." But the look on Papyrus's face stopped him short of telling him 'no'.

"Let me think a little more, I'm not saying no!"

"Oh gosh Mettaton thank you!" Papyrus tackled him into a hug, pushing him down on the couch in the process. He placed little kisses all over his face until Mettaton was laughing. "Thank you!" He repeated until Papyrus threatened to push him off.

When they sat up, Papyrus was still grinning his signature grin. The joy was practically radiating off him, though Mettaton said little more 'maybe later'. "I love you." Papyrus gushed suddenly. "I just realized I've never said that!"

Mettaton gaped for a second, but smiled. "Oh Papy, I love you too, although I have said that." The ending came out a little more bitter than meant.

Papyrus didn't seem to notice. He yawned. "Tonight was fun, Metta."

He giggled. "Definitely."

Within a few minutes Papyrus was snoring, fast asleep with head in Mettaton's lap, with him nodding off as well. Suddenly, a small buzz sounded from someone near them. First soft, then when he didn't answer it, louder.

He jolted awake, careful not to disturb Papyrus while doing so. He checked his pocket, and his phone wasn't there, hesitated. It must have been Papyrus's, and he knew it was wrong, but he couldn't help himself from reaching into his pocket and taking his phone out. It was cute and decorated with little noodles.

He clicked it on and and read the notification, it was from an unknown number. The message read:

'Hey Paps! Remember me? It's your old pal Jerry from high school! Anyway I got your number from one of your old friends, I needed to text you a warning. She's coming down to see you, be prepared! Bye!'

Mettaton raised an eyebrow at his sleeping boyfriend. 'Her?'
