Cora's POV
This time when I woke up I was in what appeared to be in a prison cell and it was medieval. I was chained to the floor, this isn't good. I've gotten kidnaped by geeks in disguise and I'm now held prisoner in a renaissance fair. Sitting up, I looked for a possible escape, no windows, and one door which looked locked and of course I was chained to the floor.
As I staggered to my feet, chain pulled taught, my head felt like it was full of bees and there was dried blood on my face. Maybe I should sit down, the bees in my head became angry so I sat down and lent against the wall. After about ten minutes the door swung open and my kidnaper stood in the door way with an icepack.
Leaping to my feet, I staggered as the bees got angrier than before. Cole covered the space between us in a second and caught me before I could hit the floor. When I righted myself, I looked at him.
"Aren't you going to say thank you. You might have been knocked out. Again." I glared at him. Game on if you want to mess with the sarcasm master, then prepared to be burned.
"Well, I weighed it against you kidnaping me so I thought why I don't just be angry instead." I glared at him, trying to gauge a reaction.
He laughed at this and I scowled. This made him laugh more, we'll see who's laughing later.
"You can come out of this room if you promise that you won't try to escape, we can answer all the questions about what happened last night and you can answer some of ours. Like why you blew your house up and where you mother is." I'll promise not to try and escape, I'll actually escape.
"How about I don't and you know one of the answers and to the other I have no idea myself." I answered dryly. As he turned to leave, I pulled on my chains and spun around to see him smirk and lean against the doorway. I sigh.
"Are you gunna take the chains off?" An amused grim spread across his face.
"Only if you promise to not go anywhere"
"Where would I go, blew up my house and my mother is missing. Police will think that I did it ad I don't want to go to prison. I don't plan on being a fugitive for the rest of my life and I like my freedom." Like I said, sarcasm.
"You wouldn't make it to prison." Why wouldn't I make it to prison? I don't think he meant I was good at hiding. Is he threatening to kill me?
Cole's POV
"Fine, I promise." She sounded annoyed and she would probably try to escape. There's nothing holding her to a promise like there is to a Hybrids.
"You promise what?" What can I say, she beat me and I don't like to lose.
"I promise not to try to escape seeing as I keep ending up unconscious whenever I try." I said as I walked over and unlocked the handcuffs.
"Ok then through the door we go." We walked through the door and I noticed her scanned her surroundings, maybe looking for an escape route. I have never known anybody so curious in my life. She does almost the exact opposite of what I think she would do. The odd thing is that I want to keep her out of this, I want to keep her safe and I don't know why.
"You need to come with me to meet the Ivan, he know more about what's going on than we do." We turned the corner to find Alec and Ruby right in front of us. Truth is that I wasn't supposed to take her out of the cell. They said we needed to 'assess the situation' whatever that means. I usually do what I think is right for the situation. Alec looked about ready to kill me right now.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" He said as his face became red and I could practically see the vein popping out of his forehead.
"She promised that she wouldn't try to escape. I think she can be trusted."
"And what makes you think that? You don't know her, the first time you saw her was less than 24 hour ago." I tried to look as innocent as I could, I did this kind of thing often because I was really good at it. Alec took a deep breath to calm himself which looked like it was working.
"This is not about what you think, it's what's good for all of us. She could escape."
"Can I interrupt because I'm going to, you guys have been arguing for ages and I haven't made one escape attempt."
"Shut up!" Shouted Alec. Man he's grumpy now.
"Listen, Alec, she hasn't made a run for it yet." Ruby was the voice of reason in this situation as me and Alec would have kept going at each other.
"She has every right to defend her case and personally, I think she can be trusted. She could have run out of here by now." I saw the sense in this comment. Ivan knows the most about the situation we're in right now. It's had to have happened before. Alec decided to act as if he was in charge. As if.
"Come with me, I'll tell you all you need to know. At this point in time, the less you know, the better." She raised one eye brow and looked at him skeptically.
"Or we could go to Ivan as he is an adult, knows more about this than us and is actually in charge."
"Lead on." Cora said with a sigh.
