Cora's POV

I have nothing left from my old life. These strangers live in a castle in the middle of a city and kidnaped me. I have no idea what they want with me but I think they are capable of anything, even murder and I don't want to die. If I do what they say I might just live through this. Or live just long enough to get out of here.

"What do you want to know first?" I asked once I pulled myself together.

"When did you first start to see things that weren't normal?" Asked Ivan.

"Yesterday morning when I saw them in the street. Well, I think it was yesterday morning but I don't know for sure." I think.

"What happened when you went home?" Questioned Cole.

"I went through my window and went down stairs and saw three men and the two things. The men took my mum and left in a car, the things were trying to kill me so I blew them up. And the house. Then he threw me against a wall and knocked me out. Twice." I tried to keep the emotion out of my out of my voice but I couldn't. It dawned on me that my mum was really gone and I might never see her again.

"You look a bit like your mother but more like your father. You have his hair and his eyes, let's hope you don't have his personality." He knew them? How? I don't know who my dad is. Both me and Cole looked confused, but I've been confused all day so nothing is new there.

"You know him better than I do. I've never met him, from what my mum told me and the look on your face I'm glad. What did he do?"

"Your father was Markus Cain, he killed anyone who disagreed with him and we don't know where he is now. Your mother ran from him and the council of the Hybrids." So my father is a serial killer and my mum was in hiding, that just perfect. And now I think I know who took her. He just happened to be a serial killer.

"Hybrids?"

"That's what you are and what we are. Part angel part human, put on earth to defend humans from demons and keep the peace between werewolves, vampires and other creatures of the night that would wish to harm each other's or humans." So werewolves, vampires and other supernatural creatures exist. My brain is exploding. How am I supposed to deal with something like that?

"What were the things that attacked me last night and took my mum?" I asked.

"The things that attacked you were demon and we don't know who took your mum." Ivan replied.

"Is there any way of getting my mum back?" I hope there is because I'm willing to bust my way out of here and find someone that can help me if they can't.

"There are things we can do, but you wouldn't want to find her. She . . . I don't want to be the one to tell you this . . . She has joined your father and I wouldn't find her if I were you."

Cole's POV

She looked sad and angry. I felt sorry for her. Her parents and my parents new each other and my parents died fighting for them but they're alive, the most evil people that most people thought where dead had actually lived and now they're back for round two. We need to contact the council and they need to send people. If they're back we're going to need all the help we can get.

"This is just great! My parents are psychos and I've been kidnaped by people who probably want them dead. Is that it, you're going to use me a leverage? Blackmail them? The old 'surrender or we'll kill her' routine?" And now she was more angry than sad or scared. "You can go to hell if that's what you think!"

"Not us personally, not our kind. But if you meet say, a vampire, or a werewolf, they would kill you, torture you, or hold you for ransom." Probably, shouldn't have told her that.

"So you're basically saying that anyone who wants him or my mum dead will use me to get to them." She looked terrified at the prospect. She has a target on her back now and who knows who will try to hit it. Her life before has ended.

Standing up suddenly, both me and Ivan leaped to our feet and got ready to catch her if necessary. Scared people often do stupid things. I've seen it done in a fight, almost got me killed, it got him killed a friend of mine killed though.

"I need to disappear then. I'm not waiting around for some killer to decide he wants to kill me. I like life, if I didn't I would be dead by now." Cora's going to try to run and we're going to have to stop her. She runs, she dies. Half of the shadow world would kill her on sight, the other would torturer her first.

"We could help you, demons can't enter here and others from the shadow world need permission from someone living here. Stay with us and you'll be safe." Ivan added quickly, he saw the same situation arising as I did. He didn't want to fight her and neither do I. She looked like one punch would shatter.

"What about everything else? Can things from the shadow world enter here, I mean my parents were one of you, could they give them permission?" YES! We may not actually have to fight and possibly knock her out again.

"No! Uhm . . . I mean no they can't which means your safe here. With us." So, I might not have meant to sound so desperate. Why do I feel things for her? Someone please answer because I think I'm going mad. My dad trained me not to feel, ever since my mum died he was like that. He taught me that emotions are a weakness.

"What Cole means to say is that no one can get in but our kind and humans that were invited, though there hasn't been one invited here ever." Cora contemplated this, you could practically here the cogs wearing.

"I'll stay here for a while. It's not like I have a choice anyway. Where would I go and how would I get away?" She going stay! I just have to make sure she stays away from Alec. He doesn't like new people and he's protective over me and Ruby. Older brother syndrome or something. We may not be related by blood but we are still brothers.
