Cole's POV

Waking up suddenly, I took in my surroundings within seconds and noticed that I was in a cell and Ruby and Alec were tied to a posts opposite me. Neither of them were awake yet. Twisting around, I couldn't see Cora in the cell. The cell we were in was bare, with just the three posts, the four cold stone walls and a cast iron door, no way out.

Testing my bonds, I knew they had underestimated our abilities, they were rope. Pulling my bonds taught I rubbed them up and down against the post until it snapped. I crossed the room and untied Ruby and Alec who had just started to wake up. Alec, who was the best at picking locks, crossed to the door and got to work on it. After a few minutes he had managed to get the door open. He stood aside and bowed.

"Your welcome. Time to get Cora."

"Shouldn't we stop at the armory first, who knows how many people we're going to have to fight to get to her and get out of here." Ruby, it seemed, to have turned into the most sensible and rational of us all now even though she looked scared.

"Ur . . . . Right then. Let's go there first and then bust her out. They've probably got here in the interrogation room." Charging about the place as cautiously as we could, we made it to the armory and grabbed our swords and weapons. We all went a bit overboard on weapons as we didn't know when we'd be back and brought spares for Cora to use. She may not have been trained with them but even the most stupid person could stab someone with a sword.

Silent as a shadow, the three of us creepy through the corridors. The closer we get to the interrogation rooms, the more screaming we heard. They were torturing her. Stopping for a second, I knew why they did this, the only person who had been communicated with the council was Ivan. He's done something.

Signaling to the others to stop, I explained to the Ruby and Alec what I think had happened and they agreed with me. We carried on to the interrogation room but we saw no one. It means this is a trap or they didn't expect us to escape and come to get Cora. Alec poked his head round the corner and then quickly looked back at us.

"There are two guards outside the door and I don't know how many on the inside. Me and Ruby will go and take out the guards quietly and then we all go in. Alec, you and Ruby take out those on the inside while I get Cora." My plans usually work so Alec and Ruby agreed and the plan went ahead.

On bursting into the room we saw what I had feared. Ivan and the council had tortured Cora and by the amount of blood on the floor, they had been doing it for hours. Ruby and Alec were fighting against the guards, Martha and Ivan while I untied and picked up Cora. All three of us made it out of the building alive but we had nowhere to go. We disappeared into the night without a trace. There was no way the council would find us.

Cora's POV

All I remember doing was screaming in pain, the people who were supposed to help me, were torturing me to death. Why. After a few more minutes I was unconscious, I couldn't open my eyes but I could still feel what was happening to me. The torturing didn't stop. Then a few minutes later someone came into the room and started fighting them. Whoever it was picked me and everything went black and this time I couldn't feel a thing.

TWO HOURS LATER

* * * * * *

Groaning, I tried to sit up but was stopped by the worst pin I had ever felt. It took all of my concentration to keep me from screaming. Turning my head slightly, I saw Alec and Ruby asleep and I could see silhouetted in the doorway. Looking around, I saw we were in one of the abandoned factories. Time for a second attempt at getting up. This time I managed to sit up but that was as far as I got.

Rolling over onto my knees I hissed in pain as I took a deep breath. Cole must have heard this from the door as he was by my side in seconds. I best over a little and lent on one of my arm, Cole looked at me worriedly. I was the one who spoke first.

"How did we get here?" I lay back down on my side facing him as it was the side that hurt the least.

"We broke you out and needed a safe place to stay, I thought of this place as no one comes here."

"Good plan." I groaned quietly as a fresh wave of pain hit me. Cole looked more worried now.

"Tell me what hurts." He said looking extremely worried.

"How about I give you a list of things that don't hurt, it will be shorter." I said letting out a quiet humorless laugh. At least my sarcasm isn't hurt.

"I'm guessing your OK, well, more OK than you look." What does he mean by that? Of course I'm hurt, does he have any idea how much I want to strangle him right now?

"No, nothing can take away my sarcasm and I can barely sit up let alone walk and we're on the run. I imagine it will involve running at some point." I growled. So . . . I might be a little angry. He looked as if he was doing his best to not smile or laugh and failed. Why does is laughing, I'm not joking. Anger coursed through my veins giving me more energy. It took my pain away so I decided it was a good idea to teach this moron a lesson. Cole turned away and started to walk back to the doorway. Crouching low, I lunged at his retreating figure and pinned him to the floor. Still I wasn't in pain.

"Are you going to laugh now? I may be injured but I pinned you. Injured, with little training, I still beat you. Ha!" Looking down at my arms I gasped, the wounds that had been there had gone, not even a scar in their place. Sensing I was distracted, Cole pushed me off him and then pinned me under him.

"You were saying?" He smirked at me.

"The cuts and bruises are gone." Cole looked down at my arm and looked confused.

"How is that even possible? Even vampires don't heal that quickly." He was getting more alarmed and therefore louder. Alec and Ruby woke up.

"What's going on? Is there a demon or someone from the council?" Alec asked alarmed.

"Why are you sitting on Cora, she's hurt you moron." As Ruby suggested, Cole got off me but Ruby and Alec looked alarmed when they saw I was healed. She gasped and Alec muttered a string of unrepeatable swearwords.

"How is that even possible?" I dusted of my clothes and rustled my wings to get the dirt off them.

"Why don't you let me explain that?" Said someone in the shadows, as the figure came forwards we saw that he was dressed in clothes that you would expect on a fighter not on a guy who looked like a male model, that and the fact that, like me, he had wings.
