Waking up slowly, I took in my surroundings. The room was kind of like the medieval room in the sanctuary except it was plainer, there was no fire place, no tapestries here but I liked it better and there was no one here when I woke up. Stretching, I slowly got up, I was surprised when my shoulder didn't hurt.
On a desk of draws there was a neat stack of clothes that I quickly got changed, silently praying that no one would come in. Black jeans and a red t-shirt, my jacket and boots were next to them. When I was changed, I stuck my head out of the bedroom door and saw that the corridor was empty. I walked out of the room and along the corridor, I always checked around each corner before moving on until I saw Ruby, Alec and Cole stood talking. Walking quietly, I snuck up behind Alec as he had his back to me. Cole and Ruby could see me but they didn't tell him that I was there.
"ALEC." He jumped about a foot in the air and started running down the corridor. "Hi there's no need to run." Alec stopped and turn around glaring at me.
"There was no need to do that, I thought we were friends. Why? Cora why?" He clutched his heart pretending to be hurt. "You wound me." I suddenly see a gleam of amusement spark in Alec's eyes, and I didn't know why. From out of nowhere someone grabbed me and without thinking I swung around and tried to punch them in their face. Michael caught my hand.
"Oh it's you. Hi." Michael smiled and looked amusement. However there was something in his eyes that told me not to trust him.
"I see your arm is better. That's good because you will be flying today." Not that I don't want to fly, it's just I don't like the way he's smiling at me. "Follow me. Oliver will be training you three, meet him outside." I still don't like the way he's smiling.
"Sure." I said following him. "You may try to teach me but I don't listen very well." I joked.
"I thought as much as he led me up the stairs, but will you be so stubborn when you have no choice." Not liking the sound of that I turned to go but Michael grabbed my arm. "Don't be like that. You'll fly one way or another."
"Michael, we have already proven that grabbing me doesn't work so well and I don't do orders." Michael ignored me and dragged me up the stairs until we reached a spiral staircase. This was not looking good. I fought him as hard as I could but I still couldn't get free. Managing to get one hand free, I punched him in the face and ran. I could hear him following me and knew I had no chance of escaping him, I had to hide or make it outside to the others.
"You can't run forever Cora, I will get you. You have to learn this."
"I know. It's just I want to learn in a way that doesn't involve you throwing me off a roof!" He stopped when he heard this but I kept going until I was down the other end of the corridor, then I turned to face him.
"I could teach you a different way, this one would not involve throwing you of a roof. I thought that way would be quicker and with these developments, time is of the essence." Ok . . . He could be lying though. I don't trust him.
"So, how will we be training then?" I asked cautiously.
"Do you not trust me?"
"No, I don't trust you, you tried to throw me off a roof. So, will you answer my question?" Michael looked sad when I said I didn't trust him. I don't know why though, it's not like he's given me reason to trust is it?
"As a training activity they have a cliff jump into the sea here. Alec, Ruby and Cole will be doing, this way it will be safer and you won't be alone doing it." This is perfect, no near death experiences.
"Ok I'm in, so when I've jumped off the cliff what do I do? I have no idea how to fly." I have some idea but then again, I could be wrong.
"I will do it and all you have to do is copy what I do." I am so glad right now there is water at the bottom, I have a feeling I will be needing it.
"Lead the way but if you try anything I will have your head as a trophy, you have been warned." And I will do it if he tries anything. We walked outside where I saw Ruby, Alec, Cole and Oliver fighting with wooden staffs.
"We're going to the cliffs, we wanted to know is you would be joining us." Michael asked Oliver and the others. All of them were up for it. Before we went, everyone got changed into swimming things except Michael as he said he wouldn't be swimming, I knew at some point today I would be.
