Chapter 26

      When we got to America's Best Wings, it was extremely crowded. So we decided on ordering take out. On getting to the counter i saw someone I wasn't expecting to see. Jayson! He was in a uniform, meaning he works here too? Oh hell naw! He hasn't seen me yet so i have to go ask him why he has been ignoring my calls. Sally who was the first to sight him tried to stop me from going to meet him but i still went.

    Sally just one moment! I'm not causing a scene. I said reassuring her.

    I know that, but I don't think it's the right time to confront him.

     I walked out before she could finish talking.

      As i approached Jayson, i felt someone drag me by my hand real fast and we were in the corner. I looked up to see him and i had no idea who he was. He was light skin with curly hair and looked so beautiful. I know it's handsome but he actually looked beautiful.
  
      Are you done staring? He said smirking.
Do i know you? I said folding my hands. At this point i had totally forgotten what i was going to do.

     He leaned in putting one hand against the wall, i don't know, do you?

    Ok i hate when people get unnecessarily smart with me. Like no, don't do that. I always win.

     Oh so you're tryna be smart now eh?
   I said raising my brows.

    He stood up straight and put his hands in his pocket, ok look I'm not here for you, I'm here for your friend. We go to the same school.

     Wait you go to Southdale High too? Why have i never seen you. I was so surprised. Like why didn't i ever see him.

     Cos you always fail to eat your eggs while they are not rotten.

    Ok now what the actual hell was that supposed to mean.
That's the dumbest phrase I've ever heard mister....
   Jason!

   What!!! Another Jason in my life! I mean not in my life but in my LIFE! No, and they are both cute! Only that the other one is spelt "jayson" but pronounced the same way! I'm gonna scream my head off. Ok shutup Shontaeya. It's not that serious.

     Are you okay? He snapped me out of my thoughts.

    Yeah, just having a "Jason day"

     What???
    He looked so confused.

      Never mind. So you were talking about my friend.

    Yeah, Sally! I don't think she knows me either but we had two classes together and I've been trying to get her to notice me but she never does.

    I chuckled a little.

   Really it's not funny, can you give me her number. Please!

  He sounded so desperate.

    I took his phone and typed her number, i knew I wasn't supposed to do this but Sally is going to thank me later.

    Before i could hand back his phone we were interrupted. By of course the other "Jayson".

    So you now go about giving anybody your number. That's a good personality you've got there.
   Jayson said as he stepped in between us.

    Is he your boyfriend? The other "Jason" asked.

     No! Just a friend, not even sure about the "friendship" anymore. I stressed on the "friendship"

     Jason excused himself and Jayson turned and looked at me with an "i can explain face"

    You know what Jayson, save it! Like I don't understand you, i never do, I don't even know you. So just ignore me and act like you don't know me.

    No Shontaeya listen to me, you don't understand. He said in a pleading voice.

    Of course I don't understand! At this time i was shouting and I didn't realize people were staring.

    I called you so many times, you didn't pick! You never told me you worked here. I mean you never told me anything. Everyday i learn new things about you. Are we even friends?

   No shontaeya! We are not friends. He yelled at me. Which shocked me and only then did i realize people were staring. Omg! He might loose his job.

     I looked at him confused.  Fine! We are not friends!

     I turned to walk away when i heard him yell.

      SHONTAEYA I LIKE YOU! You are more than a friend to me and  I LIKE YOU!!! Please don't give up on me yet.

     It was like a bomb. I never expected him to say that. Especially not at that time and place! Like I wasn't even sure if i liked him. I didn't like him, at least not yet. I turned back to look at him. His eyes were filled with so much hurt and pain.

     I didn't know what to say until Sally grabbed me and we walked out of the restaurant. Yes i know! I made a scene. But I didn't mean to!

     I was expecting her to yell at me but we got in the car and she drove off silently. But good thing is she actually bought our food. I just realized i was still hungry.

     The ride home was completely silent. This is worse than her yelling. At least when she yells i know her opinion but she's giving me the silent treatment.

    As we parked in the garage. I broke the silence. Thanks for the food at least!

   She gave a dead pan stare that made me Shutup immediately.

    We got in the house and I immediately helped myself to the food. Omg it looked so good. Barbecue covered wings smothered in black pepper with fries. Lawd my stomach rumbled. I forgot about everything that just happened.
