Chapter 30

As i was locking the door, my mom drove in. She has been more regular at home recently which is really strange.

Hey momma! You're home?? I said backing the door and hiding the key behind me.

Why do you sound like you're not happy to see me? She asked harshly.

No i am, I'm not just used to you coming home every night.

So where were you going? She said coming out of the car. She didn't park in the garage so she was probably leaving again.

Uhm.. I was just going to meet up with a friend. Just few houses a way.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't mind, but it's quite late for that. Don't you think so?

Mom it's just 8:30pm. And it's couple houses away.

She looked at me and heaved. "I give you an hour to be back."

Thanks ma! Love you. I said and ran off. He must be waiting for me already. I really thought my mom wasn't gonna let me go. As I approached, i saw him sitting with his head down and headphones plugged in.

I had to tap him before he could notice my presence.

Hey, sorry for keeping you waiting. I bumped into my mom.

He looked up surprisingly.

Your mom is home?

Yeah, she came as i was leaving. I said sitting down next to him, but not too close.

Then you should be home, I don't want her to be worried, or know that you're with me.  He said with a tint of fear in his eyes. Which got me confused.

   Since when did you get so sensitive about my mom? I know you changed Jayson but you are acting different. What's going on? Why did you even call me here?

    He stood up and walked closer to me. I didn't know what he was going to do. Then he stopped like 2 feets away. My heart was beating fast. What was he trying to do? 

      He took 2 more steps and he was so close to me that i was scared to breathe.
I subconsciously took a step back and he looked hurt.

  "Jayson... It.."

    "Are you still scared of me?"

     He yelled at me and looked really hurt.

   "No! I'm not. You were just too close"

   He scoffed and paced around. I already knew what was coming next.

    "Shontaeya do you like me? And don't even play dumb with me."

   "Jayson, this is not the right time to talk about this. Let's just concentrate on your sister. We still have to get her back from social services.

        He smirked at me in a mean way and scoffed again. "so you are still scared of me?, I didn't even touch you but you moved back like I was about to hit you."
