I totally forgot my mom was at home. I walked into the house smiling and recalling everything that had just happened.

Wow, look who's back with a smiley face. My mom said from the kitchen.

Oh i didn't see you mom.
She smiled and rinsed the blender, she probably just made a smoothie.

No it's fine, it's hard to notice when you are all teeth. So who's the guy?

Yeah, i really saw this coming.
Mom there's no guy, i just remembered somethings. I said walking away in an attempt to end the conversation. As i got to the bottom of the stairs i stopped, and then walked back to her.

Hey ma, can i ask you something? And please don't jump into conclusions.

She looked at me smirking childishly. Yeah, sure baby.

I sat down in the bar area of the kitchen.
How do you know for sure if you like someone?  i mean how do you know for sure?

I really didn't know why i was asking her this, she wasn't always there for me, so i just want her to be there for me.

She smiled and sat next to me. "i knew it was a boy. Trust me honey a teenage girl wouldn't come back home smiling like that if it wasn't because of a boy."

I didn't want her to know it was a boy, she might later find out it's Jayson.

"Trust me mom, it's not a boy. Sally is having a little issue and i'm just looking out for her. I don't want her to get hurt."

She looked at me with that suspicious smile and exhaled.

"Okay Shontaeya, if you like someone, your stomach jumps at the mere mention of his name, you never want to say goodbye to him because you are scared it will be your last, you always smile just thinking about him, and if you truly like the person, you should tell the person before it's too late. Nobody knows where they might end up. It could be your last night, or his last night, so you have to make sure you have no regrets. And even though the feeling is not mutual, lets say he doesn't like you back, it's fine. As long as you have no regrets. And one last thing, you have to make sure it's someone that your parents approve of and someone that can take care of you without your parent's money."

"In all baby, make sure you fight if you believe in love, money can't buy happiness but under certain circumstances, you don't always get what you want"

Wow! She really went in deep. I never expected that. She had a little pain in her voice, like she had a dark past, or she had experienced some heartbreak.

"Thanks a lot mom, but can i ask one more question?"

"yeah, bring it on" She said smiling reassuringly.

"You talked like you experienced something similar before. Can I know?"

She smiled and stood up, "it's better when you don't know everything love. Go to bed, it's getting late."

I stood up and went upstairs. I felt better in a way, but that was some real deep conversation I just had with my mom.

I was kind of tempted to ask her if she could help with Jayson's sister. But she already warned him to stay away, so I have to figure it out. I should probably ask Rayshawn. Maybe this can bring them back.

I decided to pay Rayshawn a visit. ding dong!   The automated doorbell camera which I had never noticed before asked me to look into it. Then the door opened. I wonder what was up with the new security. I was led in by a maid to the living room. I sat there for a few minutes and heard someone coming down the stairs.
