28- Commitment

KIM SEOKJIN'S P.O.V

"Please calm down... Seokjin didn't do anything wrong-"

"Be quiet!" My father yelled at my mom, and turned his direction back to me. "Kim Seokjin... let me ask you this again. Where are you going with this envelope... full of money?"

I was just out with Namjoon and Yoongi, until I came home to realize that I forgot to put away the envelope that was on my desk in my room, plainly spotted by anyone.

And it was my father who'd found it.

"Appa... I'm not doing anything wrong." I say, and he threw the envelope on the ground, and I flinched, but I continued. "The money is from what we made at the school festival. We rasied enough money to give to one of our friends who is blind-"

"Arasso. So this is what you've been doing lately? Don't think that I don't know anything, because I know. Who is this blind friend of yours? Is it a girl, or a boy?"

I took a deep breath. "It's a girl."

"And what is your relationship with her?"

I squeezed my hands into fists by my sides as I closed my eyes. I was done with his strict rules, and I didn't care anymore. "She's my girlfriend."

"Kim Seokjin!" He yelled, and my mother started to interfere, but he glared at her, and she stopped.

"So I see how this is... huh? Instead of studying like I told you to be doing, you're going out late at night with this girlfriend of yours huh? And this money here... you're going to give it to her for what? Are you showering her down with gifts and presents with your own money?!"

"Aniyo-"

"Be quiet!" He yelled at me, and then he turned to my mother. "And you, why have to kept this a secret from me, that our son has been having a girlfriend?"

"Y-you see... I was scared of how you would react to it... like how you are right now." She says quietly, and he scoffed.

"Well I wouldn't be so mad if you told me before!" He says and shook his head, and turned to me. "What have I told you before? When you're in school, you study and get your education. No distractions. I told you to focus more on studying so that one day, you could become a doctor-"

"That's not what I want to be." I say, bowing my head.

"What did you just say?"

"I don't want to become a doctor, appa." I say.. "That was never my career choice."

"So what do you want to become?" He asked, walking forward, and stopped just in front of me.

I reopened my eyes, and looked straight into his, and said the words I've been longing to utter.

"I want to become a singer, so that I could enroll and become an actor-"

A sharp pain hit me on the side of my cheek, leaving a throbbing and stinging sensation after. I didn't realize my father had hit me until after when my mother screamed out loud.

Holding my cheek, I turned back, and saw that my father was glaring at me.

"I am very, very disappointed in you, Seokjin. I don't know you as my son anymore, but an immature, disobedient, and reckless boy."

He said in a low tone, before he turned away from me, and started to walk out of the living room, leaving me standing there in shock as well as my mother.
